It was raining by the time they were done with the preparations. There were at least a thousand people that would move at the same time to the Howling Wolf pack.
Therefore, it was a little bit chaotic to say the least.
For Iris alone, two carriages had been prepared to load her things, while she would get into the same carriage with the alpha, since she was the luna.
But, even when Iris was already inside the carriage and it started to move, Cane didn’t come at all. He chose to ride a horse in the front of the entourage, leading this massive party to their homeland.
The sky was so gloomy, not helping with how Iris felt right now at all. She didn’t want Cane to be near her after what happened, but for some reason, she felt restless because he didn’t say anything. She didn’t even receive a word of apology.
Why would he apologize? She was his luna, but it didn’t mean he thought of her as one. She knew better why she bore his mark.
Iris closed her eyes after watching the sky turn even gloomier. As rain started to fall, water drops pelted against the window beside her. It was still noon, but it felt like they were moving in the middle of the night.
The only thing that could benefit them by traveling in this weather was; they wouldn’t run out of water supply, since they would be on a two day long journey through the mining site that connected the two packs. frёewebηovel.cѳm
There was nothing to be seen here, except a barren land and rocks after rocks that flanked them like walls.
Iris was curious about how they would manage navigating their way to the other end of this barren land.
In the end, with the sound of rain lulling her, she fell asleep, but Hanna climbed into her carriage and woke her up. It was still dark outside, but the rain had stopped.
"A tent has been prepared for you, Miss, you can continue sleeping after you take your dinner." Hanna looked cheerful, despite the gloomy weather.
"Okay." Iris climbed down the carriage and noticed that a few tents had been set up and among those tents, there was this biggest one, and Hanna led her there.
Beside the biggest tent, there was one more tent. It was right next to it. With no doubt, it belonged to the mistress.
"You can rest inside, I will bring your dinner," Hanna said and left her in front of the tent entrance, letting her go inside on her own.
This was the first time for Iris to travel so far like this and also sleep inside a tent, thus she didn’t have any expectations, but when she entered, she was in awe to see how comfortable this tent was.
There was a huge makeshift bed in the center of it and a warm, thick carpet covered the floor, making it less cold at night.
Warm air greeted Iris because two braziers had been lit inside.
When Iris was in the middle of concluding that, she whirled around all of a sudden.
"What happened, Miss?" Hanna looked at her in confusion, as she followed her line of sight, which ended on a rock nearby. "What’s wrong?"
However, Iris didn’t answer that question, instead she talked to one of the guards that was standing close to her.
"Come with me for a second, please..." Iris said to the young guard, who followed her obediently without saying anything, while Hanna rushed behind them.
They were all set to depart, but what was Iris doing right now?
"Miss? We need to go." Hanna saw Iris stand in front of a huge rock, which was as tall as her and then pointed her finger at one spot. She tilted her head at the young guard.
"There is a magic stone inside, I want you to dig it out. Can you do it?" Iris remembered how easily Cane crushed the rock, but the young guard was a little bit taken aback.
"I need a tool to do that," he said, there was no way he could do it bare handed, but then he hastily added. "I will get it right away."
However, before he could leave, Cane walked straight toward them and pushed Iris aside when he crushed the rock with his bare hand, his claws were sharp enough to cut the solid rock into pieces.
