Just ours
(Isla)
Vaela leaned over him and kissed him first.
Not the way I kissed him.
This was more hungry. More sure. Like she had waited long enough and had no interest in waiting any longer.
Caius let her take it. His hands stayed at his sides for one moment more, giving her the space to lead, and then one came to my hip when she pressed down against him.
A low sound left him.
Vaela liked that.
She sat up over him and looked down at him through my eyes, one hand still on his chest, the other moving between us. I felt everything she felt. The want. The claim in it. The deep animal joy of having him under us, wanting us, ready.
“Mine,” she said aloud this time.
Caius looked up at her and there was no mockery in him, ho question. Just heat and a strange calm acceptance that made something in me give way.
“Yes,” he said.
That was all she needed.
She took him in hand and guided him back inside us, and the first push made my whole body draw taut. Vaela braced her hands on his chest and took him deep, setting the pace herself. Hard. Clean. Certain. Caius watched her the whole time like he was studying something sacred and
dangerous at once.
His hands moved to my hips then, helping but not taking over. Letting her lead. Letting her use
him.
I could feel his control straining.
Vaela could too.
She smiled.
“You wait well,” she said.
Just ours
His mouth turned once. “I’ve had practice.”
That made me laugh, but Vaela pushed down again and thought vanished under pleasure. The room narrowed to skin, breath, heat, and the bond between all four of us pulling wide open. I felt Vorak there too now, awake in the bond, watching through Caius with open approval, possession, want.
Vaela leaned down and bit Caius lightly at the throat, then rode him harder.
He broke then.
His hands gripped my hips and his head tipped back as he came with a rough sound he did not hide.
Vaela took what she wanted from it, then bent to kiss him again, satisfied.
She climbed off him and lay beside him for a moment, breathing hard, while Caius looked up at me like he still had not decided whether to laugh or drag me right back on top of him.
Vaela was pleased with herself.
Very pleased.
Inside me, she stretched with that lazy sort of pride that came after getting exactly what she
wanted.
‘Mine‘, she said again.
Caius reached for me and brushed his hand over my side. “Isla?”
“I am here,” I said.
His eyes moved over my face, checking. Making sure it was me now. Making sure I was all right.
I leaned down and kissed him once. “She is unbearable when she gets her way.
His mouth curved. “I had noticed.”
Vaela gave one last satisfied purr and settled back enough for me to feel fully like myself again, though the heat she left behind had not gone anywhere.
Caius rolled and pulled me back against him, one arm around my waist, his mouth at my throat.
“Now,” he said, voice low, “do I get you back, or is Vaela still planning on ruining me?”
I turned in his arms and looked at him. “You say that like you did not enjoy it.”
His hand slid up my side. “I did not say that.”
Just ours
I kissed him before he could say more, and he answered at once, firm and hungry, one hand coming to the back of my neck.
This time it was different.
Not Vaela taking what she wanted.
Just us again.

His hand found mine and held it to the bed while his mouth moved over mine, then to my throat then back again. He settled over me and pushed inside me with a deep, clean thrust that made me gasp.
I wrapped my legs around him and held on.
He kissed me through every sound I made, and when he came, he buried his face against my neck like he needed the closeness as much as I did.
I held him there after, both of us spent, tangled in the blankets with the fire still burning beside us.
I stayed where I was, listening to the sound of our breathing as it settled back into something familiar.
The fire had burned lower while the night carried on around us, and the cabin felt quieter than it
had before. Caius pressed a kiss to my forehead without saying anything. I smiled to myself and
closed my eyes, thinking that if peace had a place, it might look exactly like this.
I stayed where I was, my head resting against his chest.
His hand moved over my back in quiet circles, and I felt myself relax even more. I tried to keep my eyes open, but they refused to listen.
“Tired?” he asked.
“Mhm.”
