The Alpha Of The Shadow Pack And His Mute Luna (by Beatrice Putnam) novel Chapter 100

Chapter 100

Vanessa POV

I was waiting in the living room when Stacey came back.

Did you find a map of the forest?

Yes, Luna.

Alfred saw me looking at it.

What did you say?

I really did not say much of anything.

I was pleased that she did not get into trouble. After my brief conversation with Stacy. Alfred came into the living room, and Stacey, and they had their exchange. Their exchange was as if they were speaking in some secret code between siblings. She excused herself to go wherever she goes. We said our goodbyes. Alfred walked her to the door. I would never understand the concept of walking your guest to the door and repeating goodbye. I was raised with the belief that it was just part of life. That was one thing that I was familiar withproper manners and etiquette. In fact, it was beaten into me. However, I will never understand it.

After he shut the door and locked it, he came over to me and led me into the dining room. I was shocked by the abundance of food. It was enough to feed ten people. There was a massive bowl of salad, two loaves of garlic bread, and spaghetti. Alfred pulled out my chair for me, and we sat down. He served me first. On a smaller plate, he placed the salad. Then he made me a plate of spaghetti. He gave me a huge serving. I didn’t know I could eat that much, but I will try. He then reached into his pocket and pulled out the pills that the doctor gave him to give to me. There was a soda on the table, and I opened one of them and took the pills. The soda helped with the taste of them.

He then walked over to the other side of the table and made himself a plate of food. He sat down and we ate our dinner. I ate everything on my plate and then got seconds. I was starving even though I had a snack earlier. It felt like I had not eaten in days. However, that was because of the baby. Also, I have morning sickness. I knew one of the pills was supposed to help with that. Which I was grateful for. Dinner was so good. I could not wait

for lunch tomorrow because there was enough left over for tomorrow. Lunch was going to be delicious. After we finished our dinner. We were getting ready to leave and go to the living room when Mac walked in with a chocolate cake.

He had made dessert as well. That was sweet. He served each of us a plate and got Alfred some coffee. I decided to try to drink a cup of it. It smelled so good.

Mac, can you pour me a cup of coffee with four sugars, please?

Are you sure, Luna?

Yes.

Alfred also looked shocked. The first time I tried coffee, I didn’t care for it, even with sugar and cream added. However, it smells delicious right now. He poured me some sugar and cream. I wrapped my hands around the cup and took a small sip. It tasted delicious. I slowly drank it because it was still a little hot. I ate my piece of cake as well. It was terrific, so moist, and the frosting was creamy and delicious. After finishing my cake and coffee, I felt full and sleepy. Alfred got another cup of coffee.

Do you want another cup of coffee, little one?

Yes, please.

He made us both another cup of coffee, and we went into the living room. He lit a fire in the fireplace, and then we sat down on the couch and cuddled up together.

Little one, were you really going to plan an attack without me?

No, babe, I was not.

I was going to talk to you, and we were going to come up with a plan.

So Stacey told him. That’s fine. I did not swear her to secrecy or anything like that. I knew

he would have found out eventually. I would have told him. I want to help.

Little one, you can not be in the battle when we go after Tyler.

Why not?

WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN?

WHY NOT?

Now he was yelling. Also, that was not good. I gently grab his hand.

Alfred, I’m fine and so is the baby.

You are not fighting in any battle that is final.

I got up from the couch, walked into the bedroom, and slammed the door. I know I’m pregnant and that it’s not a good idea to fight any battle while you are pregnant. I had no intention of getting involved in any struggle or similar activity. But he decided to start acting like he could control me and act like an ass. I was not going to tolerate that. I locked the door and went to take a bath. I was tired and wanted to relax. I was also horny; however, making love to him was out of the question until he apologized. I was going through the closet to get some pajamas. The door handle rattled, and then I heard the front door slam shut. Good, maybe he will cool down. Before going into the bathroom, I unlocked the bedroom door and then went into the bathroom, where I ran a bath.

I undressed and got into the bath. I was not in the tub long when the front door opened.

* Luna, it’s Stacey.

I’m in the bathtub.

I will be in the living room.

I knew why she was here. Alfred probably told her to sit in the house while he was gone. I knew he cared about me, whether he was upset or not. I never had to doubt his love for me. I lay in the bath for a while and let the warm water relax my muscles. Mainly, my back hurts. Carrying a baby puts a lot of strain on your back. Your insides were moving around to accommodate the baby. You also get hungry a lot. I could eat a horse half the time. I got out of the bath. I put on my pajamas. I was putting lotion on, and I heard the front door open again. Then I heard Alfred’s voice. They were discussing something that I could not make out. I decided to return to the living room.

Hey, Luna.

Hey, little one.

His tone was gone, and he was smiling. Again, he walked Stacey to the door. After he shut

the front door, he walked over to me.

Little one, I’m sorry for being an ass.

You’re forgiven.

He was already forgiven even before he apologized. I had let go of my anger while I was

taking my bath. I had planned on telling him I understood where he was coming from and that I could help in the hospital or something like that. I would still be there, but I would

not be in the battle. I would still be able to help. I had no idea what witches were capable
