The Alpha's Unclaimed Mate novel Chapter 181

Chapter 181: Mate Taken, Son Forsaken

Fin’s body moved before his mind gave permission, closing the distance in a blur.

His hand locked around Serena’s arm, yanking her out of Dexmon’s grip and against his chest so hard her boots left the ground, her back against his chest.

His fangs were in her neck before his human brain caught up.

Venom flooded into her, searing through her bloodstream with the force of a wolf who had watched his mate kiss another man and responded the only way instinct knew how. His arms were iron around her.

Xeon: MINE. She is MINE. His scent is on her mouth. Fix it.

Fin: I can’t— you’re already—

Xeon: DEEPER.

Serena’s brain short-circuited. One moment: kissing Dex. Next moment: airborne. Current moment: venom going in her that she didn’t want an audience for because it felt good and that was embarrassing.

Her eyes fluttered but she was still hanging onto awareness by a thread.

Dexmon roared.

The sound that tore out of him was not fully human. Aegon surged so hard that his face partially shifted, bones cracking along his jaw, his eyes going solid molten with no whites.

Aegon: KILL HIM. NOW.

Dex: His fangs are in her neck. If I rip her away it’ll—

Aegon: I KNOW.

That was the worst part. If Dex yanked her out of Fin’s arms while his fangs were locked in her throat, it would tear her open. Fin’s grip was a death grip, his jaw clamped down with the full force of an Alpha wolf mid-mark. There was no way for Dex to pull her out of his arms without hurting her.

So instead, he did the only thing that made sense to a possessive, half-feral Alpha prince whose mate was currently being marked by another man.

Before Fin could block him, Aegon was on her in a blur, his fangs sinking into the other side of her neck with a sound that made half the room flinch.

The only coherent thought cycling through Dexmon’s brain was: mine, mine, mine, mine on an endless, furious loop.

Aeron’s eyes were enormous, already composing the retelling in his head.

Meanwhile, Elara wore the very specific expression of a woman who had told her friend to friendzone Fin twelve hours ago and was watching the strategy implode in real time.

Two sets of fangs. Two Alpha wolves. Both marking Serena simultaneously, both venoms flooding her system at once, colliding inside her like two rivers meeting head-on.

She registered Fin’s fangs. Then Dex’s. Then the sensation of being claimed by two men who would rather die than let go.

Dual venom tore through her, one from the left, one from the right, each fighting for dominance in her bloodstream like two territorial storms crashing over the same coastline. Her body locked rigid between them, trapped, a lightning rod caught between two competing strikes.

Oh, she thought, with the exhausted clarity of someone who had been through too much to be surprised anymore.

Before she lost consciousness, one distinct thing came to mind: Elara is never going to let me live this down.

Fin and Dex both felt her body go limp. Both adjusted their grip at the same time. Both looked at each other over her head with identical expressions of territorial fury and the mutual, unspoken awareness that neither of them was going to be the one to let go first.

Nightspire blinked. Once. Twice. A third time, slower, as if repetition might produce a different visual. It did not. No one in the room seemed to be at all alarmed by what was happening. Noted.

Next to him, Maelor squinted, his head tilting a fraction to the left. His expression was the clinical equivalent of a man watching a carriage crash into a second carriage that was already on fire.

They exchanged a glance with one another. The unspoken consensus: These people are insane.

That was the tactical argument. The real one lived underneath it, unspoken but deafening: She’s mine and not yours, Dexmon.

Aegon: She is in his arms. OUR mate is in his arms. I will tear his throat out with my teeth.
