The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 655

Chapter 655

Judging by the crash, it sounded like a car had hit something.

Had Marcus finally gotten so bored he started wrecking cars for fun again?

Apocalypse or not, people still loved a good spectacle, especially once they had enough food in their stomachs to spare the energy.

Sure enough, someone really had crashed a car.

Except it wasn’t Marcus behind the wheel. It was Valerie.

She tried to run away again. Jason came out to stop her, and she hit him with the car.

Nicole couldn’t tell whether he was dead or alive. All she knew was that he lay in a pool of blood.

Valerie held him in her arms and sobbed hysterically. “Doctor! Somebody get a doctor! Please, save him!”

Nicole was speechless. Valerie was sobbing so hard she could barely breathe. Anyone watching would think she loved him to death. Seriously, these two were dangerous to be around.

Nicole took the opportunity to warn Poppy and Cola.

“Remember this. If you like someone and it works, stay together. If it doesn’t, end things cleanly. Don’t keep dragging each other back until somebody gets hurt, and don’t throw your life away over a relationship.”

Poppy nodded, only half understanding. “Okay.”

Cola looked confused. “Woof!”

Not wanting to get splattered with blood, Nicole took the two of them and kept her distance.

After spending a few days at the villa, Nicole returned to the research institute. Wesley happened to have some free time, so she quickly grabbed a gift and went to visit him.

It was rare enough to find someone still so eager to learn in the middle of the apocalypse, so he gladly brought her into his research group and kept her nearby while he worked on different projects.

Mitchell had been extremely busy lately. The research institute had received a shipment of glass donated by some generous people from Westbridge, and he immediately had his students start planning another glass greenhouse.

He didn’t say who donated it, but Nicole had a pretty good idea. The Robinsons had probably struck a deal with the authorities, trading glass for medicine.

Mitchell originally planned to build the greenhouse at the Westbridge local center, but after thinking it over, he changed his mind.
