The way those men looked at the women, it was almost like they wanted to eat them alive.

Poppy wasn't afraid. There was no point. Right now, they were nothing more than meat on a cutting board.

The more frightened she looked, the more excited these men would get.

Without drawing attention to herself, she quietly looked them over.

They were all eating and drinking, but every man had a dagger or knife tucked somewhere on him. The man in charge had several vicious scars across his face and a gun hanging from his waist.

The gun looked very familiar. It was the one Zeph had given Poppy.

He was the only person in the room with a firearm.

Still, anyone who had survived this long by robbing and abducting people couldn't be underestimated in a fight.

The women were shoved into the room. The men looked them over like wild animals sizing up prey, their eyes full of excitement and bloodlust.

One man swallowed hard. After finishing a piece of sausage, he rubbed his greasy hands together and flashed his yellow teeth.

"Boss, this batch is damn good."

"Well, look at that. We even got ourselves a little one."

"She's real young. Boss gets first pick, and we'll take whatever's left."

They didn't stop at talking. Someone shoved Poppy, nearly sending her stumbling straight into Oscar.

Poppy caught herself.

The other women cried out in alarm, but the more they resisted, the more excited the men became. Before long, they were all wrapped up in the men's arms, some getting felt up, others having food shoved into their mouths.

When Poppy remained standing where she was, Oscar raised an irritated eyebrow. "Do I have to do everything myself?"

He clearly expected her to come to him.

Fear appeared on Poppy's face, but she still timidly stepped forward and slowly started lifting her skirt.

Oscar didn't expect her to be so cooperative. His eyes lit up.
