The sudden sandstorm had caught every survivor off guard.
Diana and Beatrice had been separated from Jeremy and Hughie as well, and they had no idea where the two men were in the endless sea of sand. All they could do was hope they were safe and that they would all live long enough to see each other again.
But this wasn't the time to think about that. There were still men outside to deal with.
Diana's wound was deep enough to expose bone, and the bleeding wouldn't stop.
After days trapped in the sandstorm, she was already weak. If they couldn't get the bleeding under control, she might not survive.
Poppy forced herself to stay calm and went over everything Nicole had taught her. She pressed several points along Diana's arm to slow the bleeding.
Nicole had drilled those techniques into her for emergencies like this.
To Poppy's surprise, they worked. The bleeding gradually began to slow.
Poppy focused on bandaging the wound while Beatrice stood guard, watching the entrance in case the rest of the gang rushed them all at once.
All three of them were exhausted and running on empty. They ignored the blood and bodies around them and grabbed whatever food was still scattered across the table.
They needed to eat first. Otherwise, they wouldn't have enough strength left to deal with whoever was still outside.
Fortunately, there were only a little over 30 men in the entire gang, and more than a dozen had already died inside the room. Most of them were the ones calling the shots.
The men still outside were just underlings with no one left to lead them. And with Poppy holding a gun, none of them dared rush in recklessly.
After knowing Poppy for so many years, this was the first time Diana and Beatrice had actually seen her fight. Every move was quick and efficient, and once she attacked, she never hesitated.
Nicole and Zeph had clearly trained her well.
Most of the time, Poppy looked sweet, gentle, and completely harmless. But in a fight, she was ruthless.
After quickly filling their stomachs, the three divided up their roles.
Once they were ready, Beatrice went first. The moment she stepped through the doorway, a man rushed at her with a knife.
"Kill them!"
Beatrice raised a steel pipe and caught the blade before it could come down. Diana moved in at once and drove her knife into his chest several times.
