The Apocalypse Survival Manual (Three Days Before Doomsday, I Stockpiled Billions) novel Chapter 709

Kevin hit Vince hard enough to split the corner of his mouth, leaving him stunned.

When Vince saw the fury in his father's eyes, he covered his face and didn't dare say another word.

Kevin took several deep breaths before he finally calmed down. Then he turned to the crowd and lowered his head.

"I'm sorry. I failed as a father, and my son caused all of you trouble. I apologize."

The crowd was still angry, but they knew Vince was the one at fault. The rescue area genuinely saved a lot of people, and many of them benefited from it themselves.

Kevin oversaw the entire rescue effort and even went out in the rain to check on survivors himself.

He was a decent man. He just raised a terrible son.

After thinking it over, the exhausted survivors decided not to make things harder for him.

Nicole had no interest in dragging things out either. Besides, the rescue area was full of Kevin's people. If things really escalated, her side would be badly outnumbered.

She turned to Poppy. "Did he hurt you?"

Poppy shook her head. "No."

Only then did Nicole let it go. "Poppy's fine, so I'll leave it at that. But if he tries anything again, I won't be so nice."

Kevin thanked her, then smacked Vince twice more. "You brat! Apologize."

Under his father's glare, Vince gritted his teeth. "Sorry."

Nicole looked at him coldly. "I couldn't hear you."

"I said I'm sorry!"

He apologized, but the hatred in his eyes was obvious.

Nicole ignored it and watched Kevin drag him away.

Now that she was back, Beatrice and the others finally relaxed. Beatrice quickly asked, "Did you find Zeph?"

Nicole looked at them, her expression complicated, then shook her head.
