The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 169

Chapter 169 The Price of Entry

But Dorian stayed calm, as if that red dot on his forehead had never happened.

His composure mirrored the way Thora had stayed steady when she was surrounded earlier.

One of his men darted to the floor-to-ceiling window, trying to locate the sniper from the angle of the laser.

“You won’t find her.” Thora said quietly.

The moment she finished, gunfire erupted.

Bang.

The window facing Dorian shattered, glass raining down the side of the building.

It was a hidden sniper firing on purpose.

Which meant Thora hadn’t only positioned a sniper aiming at Dorian. She had also placed other operatives watching this room.

During the chaos of the shattering glass, the red laser dot moved. Shirley shifted positions instantly, using the confusion to relocate while keeping the laser locked on Dorian’s forehead.

Dorian narrowed his eyes. So that was why only three people had walked in. The rest were already in place.

He lifted his hand slightly, and his people backed off at once.

The ones restraining Tristan and Harvey instantly released them.

The two men let out a cold grunt and smoothed out their wrinkled sleeves.

Thora made a small gesture. The red laser dot vanished.

“Talking in this kind of dim light feels too informal.” Dorian said coolly.

Thora nodded. “You’re right, Mr. Cipher.”

She snapped her fingers.

Almost at the same time, Luke’s voice came through the earpiece. “Ms. Green, external power connected.”

When Thora had sabotaged the breaker earlier, Luke had hacked into the casino’s energy

network. The backup supply for Dorian’s suite was locked behind an authorization key. Only Luke could override and route the emergency line.

In an instant, the entire suite lit up again, as if someone had flipped a switch on a stage set.

Even Dorian’s cold expression shifted.

“I’ll admit it. You’re the first one who dares threaten me this way and is still standing.”

Now that the lights were up, Thora finally saw the full room clearly.

Dozens of armed fighters lined both sides of the suite, each holding the newest high-power

weapons.

“Everything has a first time. You’ll get used to it.” Thora answered seriously.

Dorian let out a cold laugh.

If Jason hadn’t warned him ahead of time, none of these intruders would still be breathing.

He hadn’t become one of the top three arms dealers on Chaules by being soft.

But this woman had caught his interest.

Yes, the moment the lights came on, his practiced eye immediately recognized it. She wasn’t a man at all. She was a woman.

“Before we continue our talk, I have one condition.” Dorian spoke in a dangerous tone as his gaze shifted to Tristan and Harvey.

Thora narrowed her eyes. “What condition?”

“I said you could find me. I never said you could do it this rudely. I believe you owe me an explanation.”

Thora didn’t answer. She stared at him, waiting to see his angle.

“If you want to keep talking, then those two pay the price.” Dorian’s cold gaze swept across Tristan and Harvey.

Thora’s lips lifted slightly. “A price.”

She knew she was on the weaker side of this exchange.
