The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 184

Chapter 184 Charged With Lightning

Lance didn’t take Thora’s warning seriously and said, “Greywolf’s interests come before anyone else’s, including mine. So even if I die, the mission will go on.”

The two of them stood in the middle of the panicking crowd like human statues, not moving at all.

Yet the pressure rolling off their bodies made it so no one dared come close.

Darius wanted to go to Thora.

But after just two steps, several more shots rang out from the shadows.

Thora shouted at once, “Don’t come any closer.”

His position was a blind spot from many angles, but if he moved forward, he would become a living target.

Darius actually stayed where he was, though his face clearly showed how upset he was.

“She seems to have misunderstood us. I’m the Alpha of the Nightclaw Pack. Does she really think I am that weak?” Darius asked Lorcan through their mind link.

“We are strong, but do not forget that when we blocked the death thrall’s magic explosion for Thora two years ago, we were badly hurt, and the elders’ seals were loosened. If we use all our power again, ‘he’ will appear once more.”

Lorcan’s voice grew heavy. “Every time ‘he’ comes back, he gets stronger. Are you sure you can reclaim control from him next time? I might even disappear…”

As he spoke, Lorcan flicked his tail in irritation, as if his strength had nowhere to go.

At the same time, Aaron, hidden in the dark, calculated the attackers’ locations from the gunshots and angles in an instant.

“Shirley, one o’clock, do

rty degrees.”

On the highest floor of the hotel, Shirley narrowed her eyes and fired again and again, taking down the people attacking Darius.

“Kid, look. It seems I’m not the only one who wants this target dead.”

Lance spoke with a smile as he tore away the disguise from his face and revealed his real looks.

Thora’s eyes went cold as she scanned around and recognized Mirage Corsairs, the thief syndicate.

She had fought them many times over the past year and recognized them at a glance.

In that instant, while she was distracted, her right wrist suddenly grew heavy, and the gun slipped from her

hand.

Her reaction was lightning fast. She seized control of her right arm and caught the gun with her left hand.

And in that same moment, Lance fired.

The bullet skimmed past her ribs and arm, leaving a burning smell on her clothes.

“Thora!” Darius’s pupils shrank.

Seeing her dodge, Lance’s expression shifted slightly before he rushed in to fight her

up

close.

Each of his punches crackled with purple lightning, smashing into Thora’s blocking arms and sending numbness through her nerves.

Thora didn’t retreat. She focused her wolf power into her fists and countered in the gaps between his strikes, her punch wind brushing his check and cutting a lock of hair.

With the two of them as the center, everything within 30 feet was thrown aside by the blasts from wolf power and abilities, and no one dared approach.

During the fight, the realistic mask on Thora’s face had already shattered, revealing her real features.

Darius could no longer hold back. He tore off his jacket and tossed it to Carl. His Alpha pressure surged, sending two Mirage Corsairs members stumbling to the ground.

“Carl, cover the pack delegates and get them out!”

“On it!” Carl answered at once and raised his gun to provide cover.

At the same time, Darius’s pupils turned into golden wolf eyes, and his wolf power exploded outward.

He dodged the oncoming bullets, gathered pale gold power in his hand, and slammed his palm into the chest of the nearest Mirage Corsairs member, sending him flying into a wall and knocking him out cold.

By now, the entire banquet had fallen into chaos, and after civilians were evacuated, the hidden Mirage Corsairs members revealed themselves.

More than 20 attackers closed in on Darius from all sides, bullets and wolf power flying together.

An international gathering

…eant for peace had turned into an all-out gunfight in seconds.

As Thora fought Lance, she saw Darius being heavily targeted out of the corner of her eye.

He moved through the storm of bullets with agile steps, his wolf-powered strikes forcing enemies back and drawing all the fire toward himself.

Because he had taken all the pressure, no interference reached Thora, allowing her to focus entirely on her fight with Lance.

But seeing Darius surrounded by enemies and fully exposed to danger, Thora’s heart sank.

In the brief moment she lost focus, Lance struck her shoulder with his palm, and lightning surged into her body.
