Chapter 201 What a Coincidence

On her way home, Thora got a message from Luke saying the surveillance at Military Hospital was back online.
She immediately pressed harder on the gas, cager to get back and check.
But as soon as she stepped inside the villa, she froze at the sight of a man sitting in her living
room.
“Thora, you’re back.”
Darius lounged on the couch with one leg crossed over the other, looking perfectly at home.
He saw her and immediately gave her a wave and a grin.
He had already felt things were off back at Violet Estate.
He and Thora were bonded now, and mates were supposed to live together.
It was one thing when Thora had been away on missions, but now that she was back, there was no reason for them to live apart.
Thora stood in the entryway for two seconds, then took two steps back to check the villa number, making sure she had the right place before walking back in. “What are you doing in my house? Who let you in?”
Howard stepped up quickly, bowing. “Ms. Green, this gentleman said he’s your mate and even showed his bond certificate, so…”
“So you just let him in?” Thora’s voice turned a bit colder.
Howard rushed to apologize, “Ms. Green, I’m sorry! I just…”
“Go get back to work.” Thora frowned.
She wasn’t really blaming Howard. She was just irritated at Darius for barging in like this and making a scene.
Howard, looking relieved, hurried off to keep cleaning.
Thora glanced around the living room. “Where are Felix and Shirley?”
“They went out for some fun. They probably won’t be back for a few days.” Darius gave her a meaningful smile.

Thora did not believe that for a second. “Where did you send them?”

He raised an eyebrow. “Mr. Reed hadn’t seen his daughter in forever, so I let them go visit for a few days. Oliver’s been talking about Shirley nonstop for the past two years. He said you stole his little one.”
“As for Felix, he’s injured anyway. Howard’s not exactly gentle, so he can’t take care of him. Mr. Talon loves his grandson, and Felix will heal much faster at his place.”
Darius spoke like it was nothing.
Once she knew where they were, Thora relaxed. She smirked, crossing her arms and leaning against a pillar.
“And you?”
Darius leaned back on the sofa, and his shirt pulled tight as he did, popping the top button. Half his chest was exposed, his collarbone catching the light.
Thora’s eyes flickered for a split second.
Darius caught the look and grinned even wider. “Didn’t Thora notice how close we live to each other? And now that we’re mates, we’re bound to move in together eventually. What if this place ends up as our new home? I just wanted to get used to it ahead of time.”
Thora stayed leaning against the wall, listening as he finished. “Yeah, what a coincidence. The estate you live in is less than 1,000 yards away in a straight line.”
The low price of this villa, the last-minute switch when she was house hunting, and how close it was to Darius’s estate…
Put together, those many coincidences stopped being coincidences.
Darius rubbed his nose, suddenly sheepish, and fell silent.
Thora narrowed her eyes and straightened, taking three long strides right up to the man.
“Thora, are you about to get physical? I’ll call for help, you know.” Darius swallowed, though he looked more excited than scared.
Thora ignored him, her lips curling into a wicked smile. “Go ahead, yell all you want. No one’s coming to save you.”
Darius was about to say something about how ridiculous that sounded, but Thora was already on him.
He had braced for a punch, but instead, she grabbed his collar.
