The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 221

Chapter 221 The Four Questions

When Marlon returned to the hall, Thora was the only one left.

She stood alone on the balcony, staring into the night.

The moment he walked up beside her, she spoke quietly, “Grandpa, aren’t you going to explain when you actually woke up?”

Marlon looked at the night sky too and gave a small smile. “I thought you’d ask what your father and I talked about.”

They stood side-by-side, their postures straight as flagpoles.

But compared to Thora’s sharp silhouette, the old man’s figure looked slightly bent with age.

Thora gave a cold laugh. “Norman… Is he really my father?”

Marlon froze at the question. He forced himself to stay composed. “Thora, why would you ask that?” His voice carried a hint of displeasure.

Thora raised a brow and continued, “Grandpa, when I visited you the day before yesterday, you were already awake, weren’t you?”

A flash of surprise crossed Marlon’s eyes. After thinking for a moment, he nodded. “Yes, but the doctor told me to rest. They gave me something to help me sleep, so by the time you arrived, I was out.”

He let out a slow breath. “Later I heard you had come. I knew you were back in the city. I knew you’d show up tonight, so I rushed over.”

Thora studied him from the side for a long moment before turning her gaze forward again. Her voice was deep and cold, “Doesn’t it hurt to keep up a lie for decades?”

Marlon’s expression changed, and the warmth in him turned into something heavy. “Thora, what are you saying? Are you doubting me now?”

Thora looked calm, not shaken at all. “You didn’t sleep that day. You were awake. And you knew I was there. Isn’t that right?”

Marlon didn’t expect her to see through it so clearly. His eyes flickered with guilt. “I…”

“You pretended to be asleep because you knew I was starting to suspect something,” Thora said, cutting straight to the truth. “You were avoiding me.”

Only then did Marlon quietly breathe out. She hadn’t questioned why he suddenly woke up,

only the fact that he had already been awake.

And Thora truly didn’t question that part. Medical issues could change without warning; no one knew when someone near death might suddenly wake again.

Besides, in this timeline, ability users existed. Maybe someone had found a healer with a special gift to heal Marlon’s old injuries.

Either way, his waking up was a blessing.

“Thora,” Marlon muttered softly.

Thora cut him off and spoke straight to the point. “My blood type is rare. Neither the Greens nor the Talons has anyone who matches it. And the DNA test shows I’m not directly related to Felix.”

Her voice was calm, almost detached, like she was talking about someone else. Marlon fell silent

at once.

A long moment passed before he finally said, “So, you already know.”

Thora’s lips curved into a cold smile. “You taught me since I was little that I never needed a blood test. You told me to write down whatever blood type Felix had. And you used your connections to make every doctor who handled my samples switch out what should’ve been my real blood.” She looked at him without emotion. “You went to great lengths to keep me from noticing.”

Marlon said nothing. In that instant, he looked older, tired in a way he had never shown before.

After a long silence, he said, “You really have grown up.”
