Amie’s voice echoed in her head, steady and reassuring. “Darius has an S+ wolf spirit rating. His regeneration ability is practically immortal. He won’t fall that easily.”
Even while comforting her, Amie pushed their speed even faster.
Logically, Thora knew Amie was right.
Darius’ fighting strength was terrifying. She had never seen his limits, and normal enemies didn’t stand a chance against him.
Still, unease gnawed at her.
Carl had said Darius went alone to see her off, without any bodyguards.
If he ran into a powerful ability user with a high level awakened wolf spirit, things could turn ugly.
As she raced forward, a familiar white car appeared at the intersection ahead. Howard was already there.
The white wolf slowed instantly, slipped behind a tree near the car, and shifted back into human form. She walked over fast and pulled the door open.
“Howard, I’ll drive. Take a cab back,” she said quickly. Before he could reply, she was already in the driver’s seat.
The engine roared. The white sports car shot forward like it had been unleashed, tearing toward the location Carl had sent.
Less than five minutes later, Thora slammed on the brakes at the marked spot.
She stepped out, her face turning dark at once,
The one parked by the curb was Darius’ car.
Its body was riddled with bullet marks of varying depths. The armor had stopped them from going through, but the sheer number of hits shoved how vicious the attack had been.
Through the shattered window, she spotted Dars’ phone lying on the driver’s seat.
Thora clenched her fist. Blue wolf power wrapped her knuckles as she smashed the remaining glass with one punch and retrieved the phone.

The screen was still lit on the dialing page. The number on it was hers.
He had been calling her when the ambush happened.

She squatted and brushed her fingers over broken pieces of tranquilizer darts scattered on the ground. Her heart sank.
With Darius’ strength, normal enemies couldn’t even get close. But they had numbers, and they used something dirty like tranquilizers. He been alone and unprepared. They might really have taken him.
Just then, engines roared in the distance. Carl arrived with Phantoms.
Darius usually kept Phantoms by his side. But ever since he started visiting Thora’s villa often, he always said, “No need to make a scene at Thora’s place.” Then, he sent the Phantoms away. He rarely even brought Carl.
Now that he was missing, all of Starlance City would be shaken. He wasn’t just the Nightclaw Pack leader-he was also the Lycan King’s grandnephew and the CEO of Skybound Group, holding the Astralis Empire’s economic lifeline.
They had to find him before word got out.
“Ms. Green!” Carl had barely reached her when his phone buzzed. After answering, his face darkened. “We just got intel. Mr. Blackwood was taken by an armed group and put on a ship. If it leaves the harbor, chasing it will be extremely hard…”
“Who did it?” Thora asked coldly.
“Most likely the Hawthornes. Their fight with Skybound Group over the western market has been brutal,” Carl said through clenched teeth.
Thora had never heard of the Hawthornes before, but that name was burned into her mind
now.
She tossed Darius’ phone to Carl and jumped back into the car.
“Ms. Green! Where are you going?”
“The docks.”
With that, the white sports car blasted off like an arrow.
Carl snapped, “What are you standing around for? Go after her!”
Phantoms rushed to their vehicles, but Thora’s driving was insane. She was fully focused on saving Darius. In seconds, even her taillights disappeared.
