The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 270

Chapter 270 Ashley’s Smart Trick

Finished

Out of nowhere, someone glided past Thora, circling her once before smoothly settling back at her side.

“Ashley,” Thora called out.

Thora’s gaze dropped, and she noticed a neat row of inline wheels beneath Ashley’s shoes.

“She’s wearing inline skates!” a nearby candidate shouted in disbelief.

Ashley glanced at the candidate coldly and smiled. “What? You want to take them? Go ahead. Try me.”

The other contestant went silent instantly.

He had actually thought about it, but this woman looked way too dangerous. He immediately gave up the idea.

Damn it. I should’ve brought gear too!

The rules never said we can’t use tools!

All he could do was glare at her, frustrated.

Lots of other candidates also focused on Ashley, marking her as the biggest threat.

Some of those who had secretly teamed up exchanged glances, already scheming to take Ashley down together.

Ashley let out a cold laugh, then looked at Thora. “So your name is Thora?”

Thora nodded while running, keeping an eye on Ashley’s wheels. “You’re smart.”.

Thora didn’t mind clever tricks like this.

Actually, she respected and liked people who could think ahead and bend rules without breaking them.

Ashley seemed pleased by the compliment.

Her blue eyes scanned Thora’s face as she glided smoothly on her skates. “Emberbloom is a poisonous plant native to the southeastern region of Chaules. It won’t kill you, but if its poison touches your skin, it paralyzes your nerves. You won’t be able to move for at least three days.”

Thora frowned, thinking.

So that’s why. No wonder the flowers looked familiar.

A year ago, she had seen the same ones during a mission with the Wolffang Unit in the southeast.

“Thanks,” Thora said, looking at Ashley, her gaze lingering on those striking blue eyes.

“Why are you staring at me, Thora? Is it because I’m pretty?” Ashley asked. While everyone else was struggling through the heavy run, she seemed to be taking a casual walk.

Thora tugged the corner of her mouth. “Yeah, you’re pretty.”

“Thanks!” Ashley smiled brightly and spun around playfully in front of Thora.

Tristan frowned, a hint of annoyance in his eyes.

Boss’s charm is as strong as her combat skills—the older she got, the stronger it became.

Shirley didn’t like this woman sticking so close to Thora either, but there wasn’t much she could do.

Ashley was taller than her.

In the monitoring room, several examiners frowned at the scene.

“Isn’t that against the rules?”

Finished

“There isn’t a rule against it, and we’ve never seen this happen before. The long-distance weighted run is a mandatory event in every military academy test. Since it’s always been a routine, people just assumed it had to be done on foot, and nobody bothered to make a real rule about it.”

The examiners went quiet.

Forget it. Let’s just act like they didn’t see anything.

Not long after the test started, Roxen and his team showed up.

“Roxen, isn’t that your car?” a young man in military uniform asked, pointing at the car parked ahead.

Roxen got out of the car, wearing the same uniform.

He walked over to his car and checked it carefully, his eyes cold.

Someone had completely trashed his car.

But it looked like that person had made it to registration.

“Judging by the time, the first round should have already started,” Mike Cagle said, arms crossed, calm as

ever.

Roxen took a long step forward. “Let’s go.”

He pulled out an ID card and swiped it across a glowing panel. The gate opened, and he walked inside.

The others shrugged and did the same, swiping their IDs and stepping in.

This time, they were here on a mission.

The first round wasn’t just about physical strength.

From beautiful valleys to dry deserts, then to ancient forests and even tropical rainforests.

Every place had its own hidden dangers.
