The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 344

Chapter 344 No Clue

“Damn it!” Valen slammed his fist down on the table.

They still had not finalized the death handling rules, and now the system had activated a poison mist feature.

“Chief examiner, the central tower in Rovelle City is the largest dungeon in the entire game,” one technician reported quickly. “It was sealed by the system and marked as the core zone. The fog could not penetrate it. That downtown tower is the only place left where survival is possible.”

“But the players have no clue about that,” another person said, voice tight with panic.

“And the tower was not just the core area,” the lead technician added, revealing a secret buried deep in the code. “The log archives were hidden there. The data was stored on a terminal belonging to a boss inside the dungeon.”

“They could barely enter the tower, much less steal data from a boss. And even if they did, they would still need a top-tier hacker to break it,” someone else said.

Valen’s expression darkened.

At this point, the issue was not whether a hacker existed. The real problem was that no player even knew the log system was real.

Jeremy spoke up. “Chief examiner, we could send someone inside to alert them. Things were already critical. If this continued, they would be trapped and die.”

Valen had considered that option. But sending someone in meant risking another life, and the choice of who to send mattered.

“I’ll do it.”

Roxen stepped forward, posture straight in his dark blue uniform trousers.

Valen turned to him. “You?”

Roxen nodded without another word. His eyes said enough.

Valen responded immediately. “Stay alive. If we can’t break in from outside the system, then we find a way from inside.”

Roxen smiled faintly. His gaze fixed on Thora running across the live monitor.

“Got it.”

Inside the game.

At that moment, every surviving player finally grasped what the apocalypse truly meant.

The toxic fog swallowed the sky. NPCs became infected and feral, charging like a flood.

Fear hit hard and real. Players screamed and rushed toward the city center.

The fog tightened like a closing net, shrinking the safe zone by the second.

Everyone poured into downtown.

At the heart of the area stood a heavily guarded tower.

When players reached the outer boundary, the system issued a warning. This was a high-tier dungeon.

Seeing armed guards stationed outside, no one dared move forward. They crowded around the entrance instead.

“What is happening?”

“The system never explained anything!”

“Is the game broken?”

“There’s no logout option. What are we supposed to do?”

Voices overlapped in panic. The remaining players buzzed with fear, trapped with no direction and no escape.

Someone spread the rumor that dying in the game meant dying for real. Terror exploded instantly.

Tristan’s team reached the plaza as well. When they did not see Thora, their expressions stiffened.

Tristan immediately sent her a team request.

She accepted.

Her voice came through the channel. “I’m here.”

At the same time, two wolf figures, one white and one gray, raced toward them.

“Thora!” If Ryan had not stopped her, Shirley would have rushed forward.

The wolves burst through the fog, crossed into the safe zone, and then shifted back into human form.

“Ashley,” Luke said quietly.

Thora and Ashley were both present now.

It was the first time the entire team had seen Thora inside the game, and tension spiked instantly.

“Boss,” several members greeted, closing in.

Thora nodded. “Do you know what caused this?”

“No,” Tristan replied bluntly. “The fog spread suddenly. NPCs died on contact. Players died too.”

Thora scanned the area. Aside from those already eliminated, nearly everyone had gathered here.

But someone was missing.

“Did anyone see Number 79?” Thora asked softly.

Luke had already told them that Number 79 was Darius, so no one reacted in surprise.

“He wasn’t here when we arrived,” Luke answered.

Ryan leaned forward, serious. “Number 79 really was Darius?”

Thora frowned and replied shortly. “Yes.”

Ryan felt both shocked and excited. That guy had really shown up. Was he here because of his destined mate?

“Thora, what should we do?” Shirley asked, staring at the fog creeping closer.

She was not the only one panicking. Everyone nearby looked shaken.

Thora, however, was thinking about Darius.
