The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 35

**Shadows Hearts by Joseph King**
**Chapter 35: Perfect Score**

**Thora’s POV:**

“No way. A military family heiress can’t handle a gun?” A voice rang out, accompanied by a sharp laugh that echoed through the training grounds. Caleb’s snickers joined in, a mocking chorus that made my skin crawl. “And you’re supposed to be one of Silverleaf Pack’s heiresses? Talk about gutless!”

The words stung, and I felt a familiar heat rise in my cheeks, but I refused to let it show.

“See, women are just women. They can’t compare to men.” The derision in Caleb’s tone was palpable, as if he relished every syllable.

“Caleb, what’s your problem?” Felix interjected, his voice laced with irritation as he shot a cold glare at Caleb. “You know perfectly well my sister never learned to shoot. What kind of man challenges someone with no training?”

Caleb’s grin faltered, replaced by a frown that deepened with each passing moment. “Felix, what’s with you today? You keep defending her.”

I couldn’t let Felix stand up for me any longer. With a determined step forward, I let out a cold laugh, my gaze locking onto Caleb’s.

For a brief moment, we held each other’s eyes, and I could see the uncertainty flicker in his. After just two seconds, he took a step back, a hint of doubt creeping into his bravado.

“Shooting’s not rocket science. If you’ve got hands, you can do it,” I retorted, my voice steady and unwavering.

I extended my hand toward Felix, who hesitated for a moment before passing me the gun. Then, realization dawned on him. “Wait, there’s no ammo…”

With a swift motion, I expertly spun the gun in my palm, feeling its weight settle comfortably in my grip. I strode over to where the magazines were stacked, my heart racing with anticipation.

My finger hooked an empty magazine, letting it drop to the ground as my other hand seized a fresh one. In a fluid motion, I slid it into place, the satisfying click echoing in the still air. It was done in the blink of an eye.

Suddenly, the laughter that had filled the air fell silent, replaced by a tense stillness. Out of the corner of my eye, I caught glimpses of frozen smiles, disbelief etched across their faces as they stared at my hands in shock.

Murmurs rippled through the crowd, a wave of astonished whispers.

“How fast was that reload?”

“I’ve got no clue; I wasn’t timing it. But that was insanely fast, like professional military level.”

I walked to the spot where Felix had been shooting, raising my arm and reminding him, “Felix, pay attention.”

“Got it.” His serious tone sent a thrill of excitement through me, and I smiled, feeling a surge of confidence as I pulled the trigger.

Ten shots rang out in rapid succession, each crack echoing like thunder in the open space.

In less than two seconds, all the bullets were spent, the air thick with the scent of gunpowder.

“That was so fast!” someone exclaimed, their voice laced with awe.

“Yeah, how’d she do that so quickly?” another voice chimed in, disbelief hanging in the air.

Caleb scoffed, his tone dripping with disdain. “Anyone can fire off ten rounds randomly like that.”

His implication was clear: I had merely been shooting blindly, my accuracy a fluke.

“100 rings.”

As the display screen announced my score, every pair of eyes snapped to it, wide with disbelief.

“A hundred rings?”

“Am I seeing things?”

“Mr. Caleb, what’s up with you today? Do you have some grudge against Thora? Why do you keep going after her?” one of the other guys asked, his tone incredulous.

“Man, you lost. Just own it. No need to be like this,” another added, shaking his head in disbelief.

I couldn’t waste any more time on Caleb’s sour attitude. Turning to Felix, I asked, “Done practicing? Let’s head home if you are.”

“Yeah!” he replied eagerly, stripping off his gloves and following me without hesitation.

As we walked away, I could feel Caleb’s furious, venomous stare burning into my back. I faintly heard him hissing through gritted teeth, “Thora, just you wait. Tomorrow I’ll make you wish you’d never been born!”

**Hugo’s POV:**

After witnessing Thora’s entire shooting performance, I could hardly contain my excitement. I couldn’t wait to get back to headquarters and immediately sent her image to my subordinates, practically vibrating with anticipation. “Find out everything! I want a complete background check!”

As I waited for the results, I replayed the shooting footage over and over in my mind.

My final conclusion was clear: this girl was born to be a sniper!

Soon enough, the file from my team arrived.

To my surprise, that young man was actually a girl.

Thora Green, the eldest daughter of Colonel Norman Green, the current commanding officer of the Starlance Military District, and the eldest granddaughter of the late General Marlon Green of the Astralis Empire.

Her background was pristine, with exceptional abilities that shone through like a beacon. This was talent delivered right to my doorstep!

Looks like this trip wasn’t wasted after all!
