Darius slowly turned his chair to face the visitor, his voice calm and flat. "Hello, Yereah."
Yereah wasn't wearing his white lab coat today. Instead, he had on a silver-gray suit and rimless glasses, giving him a refined, scholarly look.
But in Darius's eyes, he was still the same polished scoundrel as ever.
Holding a case, Yereah sighed lightly. "I didn't really want to come, but your mother insisted I check on you."
Darius raised an eyebrow, but he didn't comment.
Carl stepped back respectfully with a file in hand, clearly waiting to report something important.
Yereah placed the case down and walked straight to Darius, starting to set up the equipment. "Has he come out at all this past year?"
Yereah had been overseas for six months. During that time, Darius never contacted him. The moment Yereah returned, Evelyn called, and he rushed over immediately.
Darius cooperated calmly. "Once. I forced him back in."
Yereah nodded while adjusting the instruments. "After the last treatment, his growth completely stopped. As long as your will remains firm, and you don't overuse his power, he won't be able to suppress you for now."
He paused, then added carefully, "Honestly, you might want to listen to your father. But your mother probably couldn't bear that."
Darius's gaze flicked over him, his tone turning colder. "That's none of your concern."
Yereah froze, realizing he'd crossed a line, and didn't say another word. He focused entirely on the examination.
Soon after, several needles were inserted precisely into Darius's brain. He didn't react at all.
Yereah activated the equipment and began watching the data in real time.
"You just got back this morning?" Darius asked suddenly.
"Yeah. The plane barely landed before your mother called, like she already knew," Yereah replied casually.
He's always been this sharp. Has he already noticed what I'm hiding?
Skybound Group was the business giant of the eastern werewolves and the largest commercial force in the Astralis Empire. If fake money spread inside the group, it would be a massive blow to both the empire's economy and the group's reputation.
It was clearly a deliberate attack.
Darius frowned. "This is Chaules-wide currency, right?"
Carl nodded. "Yes. I've already sent people to trace it. The fact that even the banks can't tell the difference means whoever did this has extremely advanced abilities. And the target is clearly Skybound Group."
Darius took the file and skimmed through it, his frown deepening.
With current minting technology, this level of precision shouldn't be possible.
That led him to suspect a special ability—one capable of directly producing perfect currency copies.
Even so, replicas always carried minute flaws, detectable only through specific methods.
