The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 55

**Shadows Hearts by Joseph King**
**Chapter 55: A Question Worth Asking**

**Thora’s POV:**

As I stepped back into the chaotic energy of the fighting arena, I could feel the adrenaline still pulsing through the air. The match featuring Harvey was nearing its conclusion, and the atmosphere crackled with excitement.

In his wolf form, Harvey was a sight to behold. His powerful front claws were deeply embedded in the shoulder blades of his opponent, while his fierce fangs were poised dangerously close to the other guy’s throat. It was a display of raw strength and dominance. Only when his adversary went completely limp did Harvey release his grip, slamming him to the ground with a decisive thud that echoed through the arena, marking his victory.

From the sidelines, Ashton was a whirlwind of energy, his usual composed demeanor completely replaced by unrestrained enthusiasm. “Thora, you’re back! You have no idea what you missed! It was an incredible fight; it was like watching a storm unfold!”

His exuberance was infectious, and I couldn’t help but smile as I turned my gaze toward the ring, where the aftermath of the battle was still settling.

Harvey had already reverted to his human form, his body glistening with sweat as he toweled himself off. The moment our eyes met, he flashed me a wave, a simple gesture that sent a warm flutter through my chest.

I returned the wave with a nod, feeling a swell of pride for him. “Harvey’s close-combat skills are seriously impressive,” I remarked, my voice steady and sincere.

Ashton chimed in eagerly, his eyes sparkling with admiration. “Absolutely! You know, Harvey’s dad was a champion fighter back in his day! The kind of fighter who could take on ten Rogues without breaking a sweat! Harvey’s been training with him since he was a kid. His fundamentals are rock solid!”

I nodded in agreement, my analytical mind assessing the details. “His wolf power hits are powerful. If he could just sharpen his reaction speed in wolf form a bit more, he’d be unstoppable. Right now, he’s still a tad slow.”

Ashton’s expression shifted, a playful smirk creeping onto his face. “Just don’t let him hear you say that, or you might crush his spirit.”

“Hey, I’m just calling it like I see it,” I replied, a hint of mischief in my tone.

“Wait a second, where did you disappear to just now?” Ashton inquired, his curiosity piqued.

I shrugged casually, “The bathroom.”

At that moment, Harvey approached us, his shirtless form radiating confidence amidst the roaring crowd.

“Nice work out there,” Ashton said, playfully slapping Harvey on the chest. “I bet my entire allowance on you! Good thing you didn’t let me down!”

“Screw off!” Harvey retorted, annoyance lacing his voice, but there was a hint of a smile tugging at his lips.

Ashton retracted his hand, raising an eyebrow. “What? You want to fight me now?”

I locked my gaze with his, my tone shifting to something more serious. “Do you really want to spend your entire life fighting in an underground club?”

He froze, the weight of my question hitting him like a punch. It was clear he had never considered that possibility before.

Even as we made our way out of the underground black market, he remained contemplative, his thoughts swirling around my question.

“You’re not even seventeen yet. You have the power to shape your own future. Is this really all you want? To win fights and bask in glory that exists only in the shadows, or do you aspire to something greater, something that truly affirms your worth?”

I left him with those thoughts hanging in the air. As I observed Harvey lost in contemplation, I decided not to wait for his response. I said my goodbyes to both him and Ashton before heading home, my mind racing with possibilities.

I understood them; they were of the same ilk as I was, unwilling to settle for mediocrity.

With their family backgrounds, they could easily glide through life without a hitch, yet it was clear they sought something more substantial.

Otherwise, Harvey wouldn’t be here in this underground fight club, and Ashton wouldn’t be rebelling against the diplomatic path his family had laid out for him, stubbornly pursuing his dream of becoming a singer instead.

They just needed someone to ignite that spark within them…
