The Apocalyptic Queen's Werewolf Journey (Thora and Darius) novel Chapter 83

Chapter 83 She Will Be My Only Mate

Darius’s POV:

It was the second day Thora had been in a coma.

I only let out a sigh of relief after confirming she wasn’t in any life-threatening danger.

Watching her sleep on the bed, I answered Lorcan’s question from yesterday through our mind-link, calm. and certain. “Whether Thora is our fated mate or not, she will be my one and only mate for the future.”

Yesterday, when I ran to the library’s 50th floor, I saw Thora get blasted away. At the same time, that iris scent disappeared. It was an emergency. Lorcan and I didn’t have time to figure out what was happening. I only focused on protecting her.

Now that the danger was gone, Lorcan couldn’t stop asking about it. “Of course, I only recognize Thora, too! But I really want to see her wolf! You smelled that iris scent yesterday, right?”

I did. It was dangerously tempting.

But by the time I got there, the smell was gone. Thora still hadn’t awakened her wolf spirit.

Normally, when a werewolf wakes their wolf spirit, their special scent sticks to them forever. It shouldn’t just disappear.

I absentmindedly rubbed my sleeve.

Could it be that scent wasn’t actually from Thora?

But both times I had sensed it, it was tied closely to her. The chance it came from someone else was almost

zero.

So is her wolf spirit having a problem, or is she hiding it on purpose?

I was about to ask Yereah Hovland, who was checking on Thora, when suddenly there was a commotion outside the ward.

I frowned and looked back. Two lines of werewolf guards from the army were standing outside in black armor. Their shoulder plates had the wolf symbol of the Astralis Empire.

In the crowd, Hugo was stretching his neck to see inside. His eyes were fixed on Thora like he could pierce through the door.

My frown deepened.

She’s my future mate. So why are the werewolf guards from the army here?

Especially Hugo. The way he looked at Thora was like a hungry wolf seeing prey. Who knew what he was scheming?

I glanced at Carl, and he understood immediately. He stepped outside and started talking to the werewolf guards and Hugo. A little later, the guards standing by the door slowly left one by one.

“This is weird. She’s totally different from the last time I saw her,” Yereah muttered, looking at the medical report in his hands with a frown.

I looked at him.

Yereah’s my childhood friend, the top healer in the Nightclaw Pack, and a special consultant at the military hospital. Nobody knows werewolf physiology better than he does.

“What’s different?” I asked.

Yereah pressed his lips together and traced the report with his finger. “The last time I saw her was two months ago at Violet Estate. I didn’t do a full check-up, but I could tell her constitution was ordinary. She didn’t even meet the basic standards for a werewolf.

“But now? Totally different. She’s recovering almost like a high tier werewolf. Her muscle strength, bone density, everything looks perfect, like she was made to be this way.”

“You mean her body is fine? Even the soulstone?”

“Exactly.” Yereah shrugged. “I only checked because I got your permission. The soulstone is fine. Her energy flows properly, with no damage at all. By all rights, her wolf spirit should have awakened already. But I can’t find anything wrong.”

Even Yereah couldn’t figure it out. I didn’t dwell on it either and asked, “If nothing is wrong with her, then why hasn’t she awakened?”
