Chapter 97 Storm Across the Empires
Third-person POV:
The next morning, every TV station and major website exploded with the same breaking news.

The Rexford Empire’s stock market had crashed. Dozens of companies were close to shutting down. The whole country had fallen into an economic crisis.
At the same time, Rexford faced heavy political and diplomatic pressure from the Astralis. The situation became completely one-sided, like a force crushing everything in its path.
This silent strike made the werewolf of the Astralis Empire cheer.
Half a year ago, during a territorial conflict, Rexford’s arrogance had angered everyone. Now that Astralis finally fought back, the nation’s pride rose again.
Blue Star might look peaceful on the surface, but the hidden battles between packs and empires never stopped. Cooperation and rivalry always ran side by side.
Only a few core leaders knew the truth behind Rexford’s sudden collapse. Skybound Group had pulled every string from the shadows.
Skybound Group’s industries covered the entire Blue Star. To them, wiping out a small nation like the Rexford Empire was as easy as flicking dust off a table.
But the Nightclaw Pack was always low-key. They almost never showed their claws unless someone truly crossed the line.
Other world leaders were confused. What had Rexford done to provoke the Nightclaw Pack enough to make the Alpha strike this hard?
Then an even darker rumor spread: two senior senators from Rexford had gone missing. And those two had been the very ones who pushed hardest for the invasion of Astralis College.
Darius listened to Carl’s report about Rexford’s downfall while flipping through the file he retrieved from the Werewolf Bond Registry.
His eyes stopped on a certain name. Next to it was the word “Bond Confirmed.” The smile in his eyes was impossible to hide. The longer he looked, the more pleased he became.”
Carl, standing next to him, shivered. He had never seen his alpha do something this sneaky and shameless before.
This wasn’t just bending the rules. This guy was kicking the rules out the door, quietly deciding a she-wolf’s entire future without her even knowing.
Isn’t he afraid she would storm in and knock him flat?
Of course, Carl didn’t know that this exact scene would really happen later.
Darius leaned back in his chair. His eyes narrowed, and a faint smile tugged at his lips. She had accepted the gun he gave her as a token. She had agreed to the Mating Pact. From his point of view, that was proper

When the time was right, they would hold a grand Bonding Ceremony, inviting every nearby pack to witness it. Perfect.
As usual, he completely ignored the thing Thora said, that she requested to call off their marriage pact.
At the same time, in the Xepral Empire, inside Greywolf Base.
The doctor pulled a bullet out of Alissa’s body and tossed it into a metal tray.
“This is one of your custom sniper rounds,” the doctor said. “You know how strong it is. It went too deep. And because it’s a silver round, it destroyed the nerves around the wound. It won’t heal on its own. She’ll need a long time to recover.”
Sharkie’s face darkened. His brow tightened. “Darn it! If I ever see those two again, I’ll tear them apart!”
Julio pushed his hair back and let out a short laugh. “Boss, we’ve never taken a hit this hard before. One of our best fighters is badly injured, the mission flopped, and half our team didn’t even make it home. This whole thing is basically our worst disaster in years. It’s going down as our dark moment for sure.”
He looked young and playful, like he didn’t take it too seriously.
“But Boss,” Julio continued, his voice dropping, “that man who showed up at the end was truly terrifying. I didn’t even see what happened. One moment my teammates were beside me, and the next, they were all gone. My instincts as a killer told me he was extremely dangerous. So I didn’t even stop to think; I just turned around and ran.”
Julio’s expression finally changed when he spoke about it.
He had only seen a giant wolf rush into the smoke and flames, blocking the second explosion. Then, the mercenaries around him fell one by one, like invisible hands were cutting them down.
If Julio hadn’t been resurrected, which made him more sensitive to deadly threats than normal people, he wouldn’t have made it out alive.
Right before retreating, he only managed to glimpse the giant wolf turning into a tall man.
Julio had already mentioned the mysterious werewolf’s power during the retreat, but now, retelling it, the fear lingered in his voice.
No one else had seen the man. Even Julio hadn’t seen his face clearly.
But he already had a name for him. The Monster.
Julio looked like a teenager, but he was anything but. He was brought back to life through dark magic. In his past life, he’d been a top assassin, with more blood on his hands than he could count.
If someone could scare even him into running, that person was no ordinary enemy.
Lance sat at the highest step like a king watching over his territory. He narrowed his long eyes. His hands rested loosely together.

A bandage was wrapped around his shoulder where he’d been shot, and the wound still throbbed,
“If you don’t know who he is, forget him for now,” Lance said calmly. His voice carried a dangerous chilliness. “But remember, one day, we’ll cross paths again.”
