They didn’t have that much money.

Still, some of them had managed to make Maverick cough up a huge stack of cash.

Everyone else left, leaving just Maverick and the three high school principals.

Andrew flicked a glance and chuckled.

“Joanna, today is the city’s final mock Crucible. If you come to Genesis High, your dungeon scores alone could get you our scholarship. First place wins 500,000 Starcoins, and I’ll throw in another 500,000 myself. That’s a million! Plus, since you’re already Level 10, I’ll pay for your second summoning circle as well!”

Of course, half of that was just a promise. Genesis High was full of talent, so Joanna might not even get first place.

But the extra 500,000 Starcoins and the summoning circle were guaranteed.

Andrew’s idea of a summoning circle cost 100,000 Starcoins.

But the one Joanna used actually cost 1.2 million.

Even so, she didn’t feel particularly tempted.

Desolate Castle’s profits were dropping, but they were still there. Those offers barely moved her anymore.

Chloe said, “At Twinspire High, our scholarship is 400,000 Starcoins, but I can personally approve 50 attribute–point potions as extra support.”

That left Jacob.

Maverick watched him like a hawk.

If it weren’t for Jacob, he wouldn’t have lost ten million Starcoins.

For a powerhouse, ten million might just be the cost of the next dungeon run, but dungeons weren’t easy. Large–scale dungeons came with the risk of death.

Sweat ran down Jacob’s forehead. Gritting his teeth, he bent and bowed deeply.

“That still depends on Joanna’s choice,” Andrew said, exchanging a glance with Chloe. Neither planned to raise their offer. A few million was already a lot, and they weren’t the ones who caused this mess.

Silver–tier gear ranged in value. The best pieces could hit nine million, while the cheapest were still over a million.

Jacob really went all in.

Joanna paused when she heard him mention classmates, then laughed softly.

“That’s true. I’ve gotten used to Trinity High.”

Jacob’s face lit up, even with sweat still dripping.

It was finally settled.

“Then I’ll reprocess your enrollment and reassign your dorm right away.”

Joanna waved him off.

“No need. Isn’t the final monthly exam at noon? I’ll take first place. Then my team will be top- ranked. I’ll live in the top team’s villa.”

A spark of vengeance flared in her eyes.

“I’m already used to living at the top team’s villa.”

They probably didn’t see that coming.

In less than a single day, she was back.

“Good spirit,” Maverick said, impressed. “What skill do you want? Just say

it.”

At that moment, Nighthowl nudged his head against Joanna’s waist.

His voice flashed into her mind.

The one that fit her now was obvious.

“No problem.”

Maverick bought Symbiotic Link immediately. Joanna finally had her first extra summoner skill.

For the Silver–tier gear, she picked an offensive summoner weapon.

It was a Silver–tier weapon worth 7.2 million Starcoins–Cardinal’s Edict.
