Then he floored the gas and roared away. Only a long trail of exhaust remained.

I didn’t bother to take a look at Lucian’s expression in the car behind.

His deep, chilling eyes held a strong possessiveness towards me.

Ayla saw it and clenched her fist.

The pain in her hand brought her back to reality, stopping her from losing control.

She lowered her eyelids, concealing the surge of emotions. Then, she cried out in pain, “Hiss…”

Just then, she’d seen me and, pretending to forget her burn, reached for her seatbelt.

This caught Lucian’s attention; he leaned over to help her buckle it.
