Chapter 368 The Oscar–worthy Acting
Chapter 368 The Oscar–worthy Acting
Joanna just smiled at Connor her eyes glowing with a faint, purple hypnotic light.
“Be a good boy and turn off the circle.”
Connor’s mouth slowly stretched into a dumb, obsessed grin. Without hesitation, he shut down the circle.
Joanna finally stepped out. The thing about these circles was that they were impossible to break from the inside.
“Give me the circle disk. You go in,” Joanna said, holding out her hand.
Connor immediately handed her the disk and walked into the circle.
Seeing this, Vincent started laughing.
“Hahaha, I knew it. I knew it!
“Joanna, lift the charm on him. I want to see his face.
“It’s going to be priceless.”

Vincent didn’t even have the strength to crawl out of the circle himself, so even though Joanna had technically opened it, he was still stuck inside.
All he could move was his mouth.
Still stubborn as ever:
Joanna never planned to keep Connor charmed forever anyway.

Now all four circle disks were in her hands. She activated them one by one.
Element restraint. Space restraint. Soul restraint. Attribute drain.
As soon as she pressed the drain disk, she removed the charm from Connor.
Connor blinked and snapped back to his senses. Then his face turned pale with horror. He realized he and Joanna had switched places.
Joanna stood outside.
Instead, Connor was now the one trapped inside the circle, being drained.
“Joanna, what are you doing? I already turned over a new leaf. Why are you locking me in here too?
“I didn’t let you out earlier because I was worried Vincent had some hidden trick. What if we couldn’t beat him together?
“Let me out! I’ve changed. I’m starting over.
“After I go back to the Alliance, I’ll work for you. I know you have a big company. I’ll work for you for 500 years!”
Joanna honestly thought that if there were an Oscar for Best Actor in this world, Connor would win it.

“No thanks. My company runs background checks. Cultists with criminal records automatically fail.”
Connor froze. Background checks? What was that?
But he quickly understood what she meant–and got even angrier.

What kind of rule was that? Wasn’t the Space Alliance all about strength? The strong take resources, crush the weak, and earn respect.
Otherwise, why had he sacrificed a whole spaceship of people to become stronger?、
Wasn’t it all for a better life?
And now she was saying they wouldn’t even accept him?
Why not?!
He was furious. But the attributes draining from his body made him panic even more.
While Connor was busy racking his brain for another lie to trick her, a massive BOOM rocked the entire ship.
Joanna’s expression changed. She quickly released her senses to check what was happening outside.
It turned out that when Connor was busy sacrificing everyone, he had even tossed in the ship’s captain. In his eyes, the captain was just an intermediate cultist driver.
With the captain gone, the spaceship could only keep flying blindly on autopilot.
Now, the whole fleet was being ambushed by an evil god, and every other ship was fleeing in chaos.
Even with Al assistance, there was no crew to co–pilot or fire back, so the ship slowed way down.
Because of that, it fell behind the main fleet. An evil god chasing from behind caught up to it.
This thing looked like a monster out of a nightmare no head, a bare chest, and two giant eyeballs right in the middle of its torso.
It reached out for the ship like it was a toy.
In an instant, the ship was crushed flat.
Joanna didn’t care about Vincent or Connor anymore. She immediately used Astral Step and escaped the ship.
