As she lifted her hand, I grabbed it.

I narrowed my eyes at Selene, my voice laced with fury. Selene, if you insult Aurora one more time, I swear I ll make you regret it?

That was true. She was certain in her heart that, given how much Lucian hated Seren, he couldn’t possibly care about her or her child.

I left the Pack’s infirmary. I had several missed calls from Jace and messages of concern from him.

I called Jace back. I didn’t get to the main point right away and just mentioned some minor details to Jace.

I reassured him, then hung up.

The Pack’s infirmary was an hour’s drive from Ravenswood Apartments.

I arrived almost at ten o’clock in the evening.

I sent Jace a message, saying I was safe, put my phone in my bag, and started walking home.
