Chapter 38
med in and saw Lucian standing by the large winders, talking on the phone
Hearing the noise. Lucian turned around, his face stern
He glanced at me coldly Then, he hung up the phone Is there a problem?
His voice was cold and condescending, clearly showing his sense of superiority over me
Lucian’s arrogant bearing was unmistakable.
His stern demeanor exuded an aura of absolute control over every facet of the situation. The Alpha and colde earth–unshakable, sharp, and glinting with silent threat. His presence alone carved the room into territorey those
those soon to bleed.
My chest heaved intensely, my eyes blazing with fury.
I walked up to Lucian, grabbed his collar angrily, and yelled, “Lucian, I was supposed to win this competition. How could you let to Ayla using some dirty tricks?”
Lucian’s brows knit together. He firmly took hold of my wrist and easily removed my hand.
With a shove, he pressed me against the window, his body against mine.
Lucian held my chin, keeping me against the window. Leaning in close to my ear, he said in a chilly tone, Seren, why do you always compete with Ayla? Why do you want first place? Weren’t you determined to sever the bond with me? What are you doing now? Hmm?
I noticed the sarcasm in Lucian’s voice.
That day at the Pack’s infirmary, Selene had made it clear. Ayla’s sudden entry into the design competition was to impress Lucian s father. Five years ago, Lucian’s father didn’t think I was qualified to be the Luna of the Pack, but with Calista’s insistence, he finally gave in. albeit reluctantly.
However, soon after our claiming ceremony, Calista got sick and went to the Moonlit Mountain for treatment.
Lucian never had any intention of marrying me, and the Alpha’s family treated me with disdain. Despite all that, I ended up staying with Lucian for five years but almost no one in the Pack recognized me as their Luna.
Back then, Lucian’s father despised me and thought I was just a servant’s daughter, and he didn’t like Ayla as well, an Omega from some unknown pack.
knew Ayla’s plans. Calista didn’t like her.
But I didn’t know when Calista would wake up or if she might never wake up.
Lucian deeply loved her; she just needed his father’s approval to be the Alpha’s mate.
