The Betrayed Princess Rising (Lylah and Ezra) novel Chapter 424

Chapter 424

3rd Person’s POV

“Aren’t you becoming quite famous yourself, Luna?” Ezra murmured.

His arm tightened around Lylah’s waist as though it belonged there permanently, effortlessly settling her across his thigh.

It would have looked intimate enough already.

Unfortunately, Ezra never seemed to understand the meaning of enough.

Heat rushed into Lylah’s cheeks almost instantly.

She had made the mistake of teasing him first, forgetting that provoking him was like provoking a wolf who had never once learned restraint where his mate was concerned.

“Okay…” she said quickly, lowering her voice, “I regret it. Let’s not start this right now. Ezra, Zyrelle is literally outside.”

“And?” he asked lazily.

Not a trace of embarrassment crossed his face.

The driver’s side door opened a second later.

Zyrelle froze the instant she caught sight of them.

Her eyes widened in pure disbelief. “Goddess!”

Honestly, after everything she had witnessed from her Alpha cousin lately, she should have been immune by now. Apparently not.

The cutting remark already forming on her tongue never had the chance to escape.

Ezra calmly pressed a button beside the armrest.

The divider slid upward instantly.

Zyrelle disappeared from view.

Problem solved.

Lylah stared at him in horror. “Ezra.”

His eyes gleamed with unmistakable amusement.

“We can continue this at home,” she tried bargaining quickly. “If you want to kiss me or… or anything… we can do it there.”

“But what if I want it right now?”

Lylah nearly choked.

Fustien

The divider might have separated them visually, but she knew perfectly well it wasn’t fully soundproof. And judging from Ezra’s complete lack of shame, he clearly did not care in the slightest.

“No way.” Her voice came out flustered as she shoved lightly against his chest. “You might not be embarrassed, but I am. I still have to face Zyrelle afterward.”

Her lips were slightly swollen from earlier teasing, her expression flushed and indignant.

Ezra’s wolf practically purred at the sight.

A low laugh rumbled from his chest as he watched her glare at him with bright, heated eyes.

Goddess.

She was adorable when she was angry.

“Ezra,” Lylah warned, trying to look stern despite the blush burning across her face. “Put me down.”

This time, he obeyed.

Reluctantly.

Ezra shifted her back onto the seat beside him, though “space” clearly remained a flexible concept in his mind. Their thighs still touched. His arm still rested possessively behind her shoulders. Long fingers continued sliding slowly through the silk of her dark hair, scenting her unconsciously the way a beast did with things they treasured.

‘Mine.’

The instinct rolled heavily beneath his skin.

“You said I’m becoming famous,” Ezra said after a moment, his voice calmer now, “but that’s barely the beginning.”

Lylah glanced at him curiously.

“The Research Center will handle the expansion,” His eyes darkened slightly with focus. “But I want to build something far greater than a single invention. An adaptive Healing network. One powerful enough to evolve beyond the system Rowan introduced during the venture summit.”

Ezra continued evenly.

“It’ll begin with a pilot program across Lunaris-affiliated treatment centers first. If the trials succeed, we’ll expand it throughout Verdanth.” His fingers brushed slowly against Lylah’s waist as he spoke. “Diagnostic systems. Emergency response support. Tech-assisted treatment mapping. Rural medical access.

Lylah blinked in surprise. “That large?”

“I want a better transformation for Healing.” A faint smirk touched Ezra’s mouth. “Five years minimum. Ten if the old wolves keep resisting modernization.”
