Hathaway had no idea if Avery would pull it off, and she was anxiously waiting for his call.

During the break, her phone rang; it was Avery,

“Mom agreed to come back, Avery said.

Avery wanted Iser to come home.

Hathaway needed her to stand by her

Celeste needed her to look after her

Avery was worried about leaving Celeste alone at home. Mary had to go shopping for most of the day, and Broo man, wasn’t really suitable for the job.

Sylvia suddenly realized that both her children needed her, and her unborn grandchildren needed her buld keep living in the past. Even if she still missed Conrad, it was time to let go

Maybe the arrival of the babies at this moment brought new hope to Sylvia

Avery said over the phone. “We’re getting our things together and should be home around eleven, in me for lunch

“Okay, drive carefully.” Sylvia replied.

After hanging up, Hathaway couldn’t sit still anymore. Before the second half of the meeting started, she said a quick goodbye to Calvin, grabbed her bag, and slipped out.

Once she got in the car, Hathaway called Mary to share the news that Sylvia was coming home, then headed straight to the market to meet up with Mary and Joe.

Mary and Joe had already bought loads of groceries, but Hathaway added a few more items to the cart herself

Once they got home with all the bags, Hathaway tied on her apron and headed straight for the kitchen

She moved with practiced ease, slicing ginger to get rid of the fishy smell and laying down a bed of scallions before starting on her fish.

Joe was helping out, blanching the ribs on the other side of the kitchen. “Hathaway where did you learn to cook like this?” “Oh, I’m a natural. I picked it up from watching online tutorials, Hathaway replied with a grin.

Once the fish was done, Hathaway moved on to making some BBQ ribs.

Meanwhile, after the government meeting ended, a staff member realized Whitmore Group’s people were already gone “Looks like Whitmore Group left their documents behind.”

Jeremiah walked over. “Let me take these to Whitmore Group.”

The staff member hesitated for a second, then handed the documents over with both hands. They’re probably not that important anyway, he thought.

Victor was waiting outside. When Jeremiah got in the car, he asked, “Mr. Blackwood, are we heading to the hospital now? “The Whitmore residence,” Jeremiah replied.

Victor paused for a second, then asked. “You mean Avery’s place?

“Who else?” Jeremiah replied.

Victor didn’t say another word. He hit the gas and headed straight for the Whitmore residence.

When Jeremiah arrived outside the Whitmore residence, he happened to see Avery bringing Sylvin back

As he was about to look away, his gaze suddenly froze. He caught sight of the string of prayer heads on by

Jeremiah’s gaze became somber

Just then, the gate swung open

Hathaway came running out, clearly excited, still wearing her white apron. Her eyes sparkled with joy hey hate was pulled up in a messy bun

When she saw Sylvia, she broke into a huge smile. “Mom, you’re back!”

Her hands were still wet, so she didn’t want to touch Sylvia. Instead, she leaned in close, her face nearly

smiling happily. “I cooked today! I made a whole table of your favorite dishes myself.”

The sunlight fell on her soft skin. Her whole presence was soft and tender, her eyes full of gentle warmth.

Sylvia gently touched Hathaway’s face and smiled warmly. “Thanks”

“Let’s go inside,” Hathaway said, excitedly leading Sylvia in. Then she turned to Celeste, who was following behind “Celeste watch your step.”

Two servants came in behind them, carrying bags and boxes.

Victor finally snapped out of it, his jaw practically dropping in surprise. “Wait. Ms. Whitmore can cook?”

This totally wasn’t the Hathaway he thought he knew.

Honestly, he’d never pictured her cooking. She’d always seemed like the gorgeous, pampered princess type

No one knew Hathaway could actually be so classy and sweet.

Jeremiah didn’t say a word. He had no idea, either.

But somehow, he found himself convinced her cooking would be delicious, like he’d already had a taste of it once, though he knew that couldn’t be true.
