Chapter 126
Chapter 126
Just then, a sudden, urgent ringtone cut through the air, making Jeremiah’s bloodshot eyes snap open
It was his phone.
今回
Jeremiah didn’t reach for it, but Hathaway, still half–conscious, flailed her arm and accidentally answered the
call.
“Mr. Blackwood, the doctor’s here.” Victor’s voice came through the phone.
Jeremiah wasn’t sure if he felt disappointed or relieved. He released his hold on Hathaway and let out a heavy sigh.
Got it,” he replied, his voice hoarse.
Victor was caught off guard for a second, then quickly hung up.
Jeremiah gently adjusted Hathaway’s dress, then got out of bed and straightened his own clothes. He took a deep breath, and after a moment, he opened the door a crack.
He didn’t let anyone in.
Instead, he held out his hand. “Give me the syringe.”
Victor paused for a moment, then hurriedly said. “Mr. Blackwood, maybe it’s better to let the doctor do it.
“Is it a male doctor?” Jeremiah asked.
“Yeah,” Victor replied.
“Hurry up.” Jeremiah urged.
He wanted that syringe.
Jeremiah’s jaw was clenched so tight it looked painful. Victor peeked through the crack in the door, thinking ‘Mr. Blackwood looks really out of it. Did someone drug him, too?
Hathaway had spat out half a pill. There was no way Jeremiah would stoop so low as to pick it up off the floor and eat it.
Victor didn’t dare think too much about it. He told the doctor to draw the medicine into the syringe
Jeremiah took the syringe and immediately shut the door behind him.
Back in the room, he saw Hathaway writhing on the hed, her body slick with sweat Fanning her flashed face with a pair of laxy panties.
Her bare lejos peeked out from beneath her lifted dress,

burst out.
This time, Jeremiah wasn’t holding back. His gaze was wild and red with fury as he held Hathaway’s head firmly in place.
With a cold, swift motion, he plunged the needle into the fragile vein at her neck, slowly injecting the medicine and watching it seep into her veins.
Ten minutes later, Jeremiah finally came out of the room.
He looked completely spent, his shirt drenched with sweat across the back, and faint streaks of red marked
his chest.
Victor stared at Jeremiah, who looked like he’d survived a wild beast’s den, and asked worriedly, “Mr. Blackwood, are you alright?”
Jeremiah sank into the sofa, silent for a moment, then suddenly said, “Send a woman in.”
Victor nearly jumped out of his skin.
“Do you mean Ms. Kingsley?” Victor asked.
If Jeremiah needed to cool off, Jessica was the only one he could turn to.
Jeremiah lifted his gaze, his tone icy. “What are you talking about? Get a female secretary to keep an eye on Hathaway. Once she wakes up, send her back to the Whitmore family. Is it really this hard to understand me now?”
That sudden burst of anger made Victor break out in a cold sweat.
He felt like Jeremiah could snap his neck any second.
Victor had totally gotten the wrong idea.
He nodded repeatedly, trying to show he understood. T’ll call Alice right away.”
Alice Carter was known as the most attentive and gentle one among Jeremiah’s secretaries.
Victor rushed out to make the call.
When Alice arrived, Jeremiah gave her a few quick instructions and then left.
Alice stepped into the room and spotted a woman lying on the bed. She recognized her right away
It was Hathaway, the one who was always coming by Blackwood Group Hathaway was fully dressed, pull ou cold, her face a lile more flushed than usual, but nothing too dramatic.
Alice sat in the armchair for about half an hour, and by then, Hathaway’s complexion had returned to normal.

Seeing that Hathaway was about to wake up, Alice got up to boil some water. Maybe the sound of the water boiling was what finally woke Hathaway.
When Alice came back in, Hathaway was sitting up in a panic, checking her clothes
Alice quickly reassured her. “Ms. Whitmore, you’ve been asleep the whole time. I’ve been right here”
Hathaway checked her dress. Everything was still in place, so she finally relaxed. Then she went to the bathroom to make sure nothing else was wrong.
Everything else seemed normal.
She twisted her neck in front of the mirror and felt a sharp pain.
‘Ouch, that hurts! Hathaway thought.
She looked closer and spotted a faint mark where the needle had gone in.
Alice called from outside the door, “Mr. Blackwood said he gave you some medicine, so you might feel a little uncomfortable for a bit.”
Hathaway yanked the door open and snapped, “Where the hell is Jeremiah, that bastard?”
Alice paused, then gave an awkward smile. “He already left. He told me to let you know. All the staff that happened before? It’s written off. Consider it settled.”
Hathaway was so mad that she couldn’t think straight. All she cared about was finding her phone. “What time is it? I need to get home.”
Alice quickly turned around and handed her purse over. “Your phone should be inside. I’ll drive you home right away, Ms. Whitmore.”
Hathaway wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. “Thanks for the help,” she muttered.
The Whitmore family had already called the police. When Hathaway walked in, the room was full of officers, and that young official she’d met only once was there.
Hathaway had called Sylvia on the way over, but when Sylvia saw her, her eyes were still red. She pulled Hathaway into a hug, asking, “Where have you been?”
Hathaway kept her voice steady. Jeremiah took me. That whole mess at his engagement party? I did i
The Whitmore family stood rooted to the spot, completely stunned.
