Their conversation continued for several more minutes until Scott finally glanced at the clock on the wall. Remembering the surgery he would have to perform flawlessly later that noon, he reluctantly stood.

"Alright, that’s enough catching up for now." He looked at Sienna with a friendly smile. "Sister-in-law, come with me. I need to remove the stitches from your arm."

Sienna nodded and stood.

Before following Scott, she looked at Zachary.

"Go ahead," Zachary said softly. "I’ll be right here waiting for you."

She smiled reassuringly before leaving the office with Scott.

The moment the door closed behind them, Kevin and Ethan looked at each other, and the same thought crossed both their minds.

Without wasting another second, they moved closer to Zachary.

"So," Kevin said with a grin that made his intentions obvious, "are you finally going to explain how you ended up marrying Sienna?"

Ethan folded his arms and nodded. "And while you’re at it, tell us why your two best friends didn’t even receive an invitation to your wedding." He said, his gaze narrowing at Zachary.

However, Zachary chose not to respond.

Kevin let out a long sigh before leaning back in his chair. He looked at Zachary thoughtfully, as though pieces of a puzzle were finally beginning to fit together.

"Zach, I just remembered something," he said. "A few days ago, we were on a business trip together. You suddenly left me there and flew back home without giving me much of an explanation."

His eyes narrowed as another realization struck him.

"Don’t tell me..." He pointed at Zachary. "You rushed back because of your wife?"

Zachary remained silent for a moment before letting out a quiet breath. Since the truth had already come out, there was no point hiding anything from his two best friends anymore.

"You’re right, Kev," he admitted calmly. "She was injured, so I came back immediately."

Kevin slowly nodded, finally understanding why Zachary had looked unusually distracted during the trip.

Before either of them could ask another question, Zachary turned his attention to Ethan.

"And no," he continued, "we haven’t had a wedding yet. We only registered our marriage."

The room instantly fell silent.

Kevin and Ethan stared at him with identical expressions. Their eyes widened, and neither of them even tried to hide their disbelief.

Completely unfazed by their reaction, Zachary reached into his pocket, took out his phone, and began checking the emails that had accumulated during the morning. His calm expression made it clear that, as far as he was concerned, the conversation was already over.

Kevin, however, had no intention of letting him off that easily.

"Man..." He shook his head in disbelief. "This doesn’t sound like you at all."

Zachary didn’t look up from his phone.

"I remember you saying you’d never get married because you already had a son," Kevin continued. "You sounded so certain back then."

Ethan nodded.

"Exactly. I thought the most surprising thing we’d ever hear was that you finally had a girlfriend." He looked at Zachary for a moment before adding with a laugh, "Instead, you skipped straight to being someone’s husband."

Kevin couldn’t help chuckling. "Man, you really don’t know how to do things one step at a time, do you?"
