The more Sienna thought about it, the more excited yet nervous she became.
This was her first date in years, and her first official date with Zachary since they met. Now, even though they had just married and built a family together, with Zach’s son she never knew was also hers, the anticipation still made her feel like a woman preparing for her very first date.
A few moments later, her phone vibrated again.
Thinking Zachary had sent another message—or perhaps decided to call—she immediately took out her cell phone.
However, the name on the screen made her blink.
It was Mia.
Sienna opened the message, and the smile on her face slowly faded as she read it.
"Sienna, you won’t believe it! Even though the article that spread yesterday is gone today, those stupid people are still talking about it!"
She quietly let out a slow breath.
For a moment, she stared at the screen, thinking about how she should respond. She didn’t want to sound overly worried, but she also wanted to know exactly what Mia meant.
After a few seconds, she typed a short reply.
"Who are they?"
Mia answered almost immediately.
"The hotel staff. I overheard a few of them talking while I was having lunch. Those people have started connecting the "Boss" to Benjamin Foster, but they still don’t know the female staff member’s identity. I just hope no one finds out it was you."
Sienna’s fingers tightened around her phone.
Her jaw clenched as she reread the message.
She had hoped everything would settle down after Zachary removed the article, but it seemed gossip spread much faster than facts. Even without any evidence left online, people were still piecing together their own stories.
At least they still didn’t know her identity.
That small fact brought her a little relief, but not enough to ease the uneasiness growing inside her.
She lowered her phone onto her lap and quietly looked out the window again. The excitement she had been feeling only moments ago had begun to fade, replaced by the lingering discomfort that came whenever her past threatened to catch up with her once more.
"Ma’am, we have arrived."
Logan’s voice pulled Sienna from her thoughts. She looked out the window and saw the car stopping at the main entrance of Sterling Capital.
She instinctively searched for Zachary, expecting him to be waiting outside, but there was no sign of him. Just as she was about to ask Logan whether they should wait, he had already stepped out of the car. A moment later, he opened the rear door for her.
"Ma’am, Master is waiting for you upstairs," Logan said politely as he stood aside for her.
Although she was slightly confused about why Zachary wanted her to go to his office first, she stepped out of the car.
"Is my husband still busy?" she asked.
"I’m not sure, Ma’am," Logan replied. "But Mr. Murphy will explain everything."
As he spoke, he glanced toward a man in a dark gray suit who was walking briskly toward them.
Sienna immediately recognized him. The man was Trevor Murphy, Zachary’s head secretary and one of his closest friends.
"Ma’am, welcome." Trevor greeted her with a polite nod.
