Eleanor’s eyes flicked past Damien, finally settling on Maya. Her expression softened from curiosity to gentle scrutiny, a teasing warmth in her gaze. “And you must be the young lady who’s captured my grandson’s attention,” she said, her voice playful yet kind.
Damien pulled back after giving Charles a brief, affectionate hug, then stepped back to stand beside Maya. He cleared his throat softly, offering a reassuring glance at her before guiding her a
step forward. “Grandma, Grandpa… this is Maya.”
Maya’s heart fluttered under their gaze. She drew a steadying breath, forcing a small, respectful
smile. Her voice was barely above a whisper. “It’s… an honor to meet you, Mrs. Blackwood, Mr.

Eleanor’s lips lifted in a teasing half-smile, her eyes sparkling with warmth. “Oh, please-call me
