The Billionaire’s Secret Quartet (Thalassa and Elowen) novel Chapter 1114

Ethan was seething inside after Lucy's brazen comment, chewing over the rumor about him and Lysander as if it were a piece of juicy gossip.

She had some nerve, spouting off like that in front of him.

As his expression changed, Thalassa spoke up.

With a smirk that didn't quite reach his eyes, Ethan retorted, "Someone who can never speak kind thought, well, sounds more like a barking dog to me."

Lucy's face flushed with embarrassment, her intent to lash out at Thalassa thwarted. Thalassa hadn't called her a dog outright; it was Ethan who had uttered the word.

Without any real grounds for a comeback, she forced a laugh, then turned to Ethan with a sycophantic smile. "Mr. Ethan, I apologize for the spectacle. To be frank with you, Thalassa is the result of my husband's indiscretion. I just worry she might follow in her mother's footsteps- shameless and fickle, always have one eye on what they already have and the other on what they don’t. I wouldn't want you to be misled."

Ethan was about to respond when a chilling, commanding voice cut through the air.

"My business is not up for public debate. Speaking ill of someone under my wing—looking for trouble, are we?"

The voice carried an intimidating force that demanded attention.

Everyone turned toward the source and saw Lysander striding in, flanked by his bodyguards. His tall, commanding presence seemed to stir the air with each step he took.

Thalassa held her breath at the sight of him; his powerful aura was overwhelming.

Lucy paled at Lysander's words, her earlier bravado vanishing into thin air. She stood up, her eyes darting around in panic. "Mr. Sinclair, I…"

Bruce also rose, eyeing Lysander warily.

Lysander's gaze was fixed on Lucy, silent yet oppressive, brimming with danger.

Lucy shivered under his stare, never having encountered someone whose mere look could be so terrifying.

"Will you slap yourself, or shall I have someone do it for you?" Lysander's voice was icy and grave.

Lucy looked desperately to Bruce for help.

Bruce quickly interjected, "Lysander, my wife misspoke, and I apologize on her behalf. Please, be generous and forgive her this once."

"Your apology is worthless and only adds to the annoyance," Lysander responded, his handsome face grim and his piercing gaze as if skewering Lucy and Bruce a thousand times over.
