The Billionaire's True Heiress From Fake Jewel to Real Crown novel Chapter 503

Octavia had no real desire to pass along the study guides Fallon had prepared, but Latham took matters into his own hands and called Cindy downstairs.

“Cindy, I asked someone to put together some English study materials for you. Take a look.”

He handed the stack over, and right at the top, Cindy saw Fallon's name in familiar handwriting. She blinked, thunderstruck.

She knew that handwriting anywhere.

“Dad, Fallon…” She hesitated, wanting to ask how on earth her father knew Fallon.

Latham smiled. “Fallon went to the same college as me, just a couple years behind. Her English is fantastic and now she teaches at the school.”

“So I asked her to help you out and pull some study guides together.”

Cindy nodded, still in shock. She never would have guessed her dad even knew Fallon, much less that they had this kind of friendship.

“Cindy, didn’t your tutor also get you some study materials?” Octavia chimed in from the side.

Cindy nodded again, almost on autopilot. “Yeah, Mom, she did.”

“Well, compare them, see which ones help you more,” Octavia went on. “Honestly, your tutor’s probably more professional, but you can always have her look over these too.”

“Okay.” Cindy couldn’t think of a reason to refuse. Her mother was making sense, after all.

But she couldn’t stop thinking about her dad and Fallon. She felt restless even after she retreated to her room, unable to focus on anything.

Eventually she gave up and called Fallon.

Fallon was already winding down for the night, but she didn’t sound surprised to get Cindy’s call. Her name was right there on the materials, after all.

“Cindy, it’s late. Why aren’t you asleep yet?”

“The college entrance exams are almost here. You need your rest.”

“You really do know how to make people feel good,” Fallon said, lightness in her voice.

“Godmother, when did you and my dad meet, anyway?” For reasons she couldn’t explain, Cindy felt like there was… something different about the way the two knew each other. She couldn’t quite name it.

“We’ve known each other a long time,” Fallon laughed softly.

“But we lost touch for years. It wasn’t until recently, when he reached out, that I even found out he was really your father.”

“We met at university. I was a freshman, he was already in his second year of grad school.”

“Your dad was really popular back then. His girlfriend at the time wasn’t your mom.”

“A lot of girls liked him. When he graduated, you wouldn’t believe how many girls cried over him.”

“I only reconnected with him after I graduated, when I happened to get an internship at your dad’s company.”
