The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 270

If Harold hadn't practically forced her into it, she never would have agreed to the arrangement.

"Yeah," Nathan murmured with a smile. Thinking of their new house currently under renovation, he brought it up.

Nora couldn't believe he had already bought a house behind her back. She shot him a playful glare. "What else are you hiding from me?"

"That's it."

His biggest secret was that he had been in love with her for over a decade.

A secret no one else on earth knew.

Now that the cat was out of the bag, he was a completely open book to her.

Feeling the raw affection radiating from his gaze, Nora's fingers curled into her palms.

She looked away to escape his overwhelming intensity. After a moment, she asked, "When can I be discharged?"

She felt fine. Taking up a hospital bed seemed like a total waste of resources.

"Whenever the doctor clears you."

Nora let out a disappointed "Oh."

Nathan gave a helpless chuckle. "Relax. Rosalind's case is practically closed. You need the rest. Your health is the most important thing right now; you can't afford to be careless."

She knew he was right. But going from running around the clock to completely idle was driving her insane.

"Can I at least go see Nolan?"

The fact that they made it out with minimal casualties was largely thanks to him.

If he hadn't thrown endless amounts of cash at the kidnapper, the entire ordeal would have ended in a bloodbath.

The sheer power of a billionaire daddy's boy was undeniable.

If Nolan hadn't shamelessly exploited his father's vast wealth, the kidnapper might never have been swayed.

"You care about him that much?"

Just the mention of Nolan's name set off Nathan's internal alarms.

His predatory gaze locked onto Nora, fiercely searching her face for any sign of lingering affection for the billionaire.
