The Captain I Married by Chance novel Chapter 417

"It's—"

Valerie was about to answer Nora's question when she caught a glimpse of their surroundings from the corner of her eye. She immediately slapped a hand over her mouth and dragged Nora into a secluded corner like a thief on the run.

"What is going on?"

Valerie's frantic behavior left Nora completely baffled.

"It's Michael! That guy back there was Michael!"

Valerie's voice vibrated with uncontainable excitement.

Nora stared at her in disbelief as actual tears began to pool in Valerie's eyes.

"Are you sure it was him? How do you even know?"

She had just scanned that exact area and didn't see anyone who remotely resembled Michael.

Valerie must have had built-in binoculars to spot him from that distance.

"And even if it was him, why are you freaking out this much?"

Nora was genuinely worried Valerie might scream and pass out on the spot.

Valerie gripped Nora's arm, shooting her a look of pure condemnation. "How can I not freak out? That's Michael in the flesh!"

"Oh my god, I finally made it. I actually saw him!"

"Today is my lucky day, I'm buying a lottery ticket on the way home!"

Nora: "..."

She truly would never understand the mind of a fangirl.

What did she mean by 'in the flesh'? Was he supposed to be a hologram?

What shocked Nora even more was the realization that despite Valerie obsessing over him for years, this was her first time seeing him in person. She immediately voiced her thought.

To her surprise, Valerie gave her a firm nod.

Nora was stunned. "How is that possible? You've liked him since college. Even with your crazy work schedule, you never had a single chance to go see him?"

Valerie gave Nora a deeply mournful, pitiful look.

Nora was utterly confused. "But don't celebrities need that kind of exposure? If he tells you guys not to pick him up at the airport, do his fans actually listen?"

Valerie nodded vigorously.

"Anyone who truly loves him respects his boundaries."

Nora couldn't comprehend it.

But she respected it.

Going to such lengths for a complete stranger took an incredible amount of dedication.

Michael had kept his record perfectly clean all these years, proving he was worthy of their loyalty.

Thinking about the recent death threats he had received, Nora lowered her eyes to hide her emotions.

No wonder the task force was keeping the investigation strictly confidential.

If word got out, never mind the public backlash, his fanbase alone would tear the internet apart.

"Let's go follow him!"
