"Nora."
Met with silence, the usually confident and composed Captain Peyton felt he had hit rock bottom.
Was there anything more deeply humiliating than failing to seduce your own fiancée?
He definitely didn't think so.
In that split second, a million different workout routines flashed through his brilliant mind.
Just as he was plotting which muscle group to target first, she finally snapped out of her daze.
Seeing him looking as dejected as a kicked puppy left out in the rain, she blinked in confusion. "What's wrong?"
Nathan gave her a look.
She actually had the nerve to ask what was wrong?
His male pride had never been so viciously challenged!
Her reaction just now was basically telling him he didn't have what it takes!
Seeing his sudden annoyance, she only grew more bewildered.
"Nathan?"
She called his name softly, visible panic creeping onto her face. "What's wrong? Don't scare me."
Her hand unconsciously started wandering higher up his leg. "Does it hurt somewhere? Did you hurt something else jumping out of the car? Let me—"
Before she could finish the sentence, he firmly grabbed her wrist.
She looked at him in confusion, but before she could ask, she noticed his entire face had flushed crimson.
Their eyes met, and she heard him grit out through his teeth, "You can't touch there."
Nora was baffled.
Where was 'there'?
She instinctively looked down, only for him to yank the blanket all the way up, completely blocking her view.
Even though he was fast, her eyesight was better.
Just before the blanket covered him, she caught a very clear glimpse of the prominent bulge straining against his pants.
Oh, god!
What had she just looked at?
