The CEO's Midnight Remedy novel Chapter 65

**Dust Writes New Stories by Rei Holt Wilder**
**Chapter 65**

**Aria’s POV**

The sleek, polished interior of Devon’s Porsche enveloped me, creating a sense of confinement as I turned to confront him. The scent of leather mixed with the faint aroma of cologne lingered in the air, heightening the tension between us.

Devon’s face remained a mask of cool detachment, his gray eyes scrutinizing me with an unsettling calmness that only fueled my frustration. “You still don’t grasp the situation, do you?” he said, shifting slightly in his seat, the movement accentuating his broad shoulders against the luxurious leather. “I wasn’t trying to complicate matters for your team. If what you’re proposing is something that any creative team could execute, then the moment Kane Technology pulls its funding, your company would be on the brink of collapse by the next day.”

His bluntness took me aback, leaving me blinking in surprise. Was he actually right? Had we been playing it too safe, too comfortably within the boundaries of the familiar? A flicker of doubt crept in, mingling with the remnants of my anger. Perhaps our proposal had leaned too heavily on conventional ideas, echoing the successful campaigns we had seen elsewhere.

Taking a deep breath, I resolved to shift my approach. I needed to uncover what Devon was truly seeking, what would appease the ever-elusive Devon Kane. I softened my expression, leaning in slightly, trying to bridge the emotional chasm between us.

“Then, Mr. Kane,” I said, deliberately infusing my voice with a sweeter, almost playful lilt, “would you be so kind as to share what kind of proposal you envision?”

His eyes narrowed in response, a flicker of distaste crossing his features. “Don’t use that nauseating tone with me.”

I fought the urge to snap back, biting my tongue to swallow my pride. “Then how am I supposed to get you to share your thoughts?”

A hint of amusement danced in his eyes, and he raised an eyebrow, clearly entertained by my predicament. “Do you have any idea how much Devon Kane’s advice is worth?”

In that moment, something within me shifted. I locked eyes with him, feeling a sudden surge of boldness. Before I could second-guess myself, I leaned forward, cradling his face in my hands, and pressed my lips against his.

His eyes widened in surprise, clearly taken aback by my audacity. But just as quickly, he regained control, deepening the kiss with a fervor that caught me off guard. “Open your mouth,” he commanded softly against my lips.

“Most marketing campaigns for blockchain focus on technical specifications or vague promises of security,” he continued, gesturing with one hand as if to emphasize his point. “They overlook the human element—the very reason anyone should care about distributed trust systems in the first place.”

I nodded slowly, my brow furrowing in concentration. “So instead of spotlighting features, we should emphasize how it transforms relationships and trust between parties?”

“Exactly.” A flicker of approval crossed his face, and I felt a rush of validation. “Your audience isn’t limited to tech enthusiasts; it encompasses anyone who’s ever felt disillusioned by traditional systems of verification and trust.”

As he elaborated on the psychological aspects of blockchain adoption, I scribbled notes furiously, captivated by the transformation unfolding before me. The cold, critical businessman I had encountered earlier was now an engaging visionary, passionately explaining concepts that seemed to resonate deep within me.

“The fundamental mistake most blockchain marketing makes,” he explained, “is treating it like any other technology product. It’s not. It’s a paradigm shift in how we establish truth in digital environments.”

“So our campaign should narrate that story—not just what the technology does, but how it fundamentally alters the nature of digital relationships,” I replied, looking up from my notes, my mind racing with possibilities.
