Chapter 90: Mine-1
Ethan
Hieranswer gave me years of life, it gave me true hope. I smiled, a smile hadn’t been drawn on my lips for a long time.
“Thank you for that answer.”
I wanted to take her right away, but I want to show her that this is more than just sex.
I looked at her without shame, I desire her. I’ve been looking forward to this for a long time… but also without haste. I don’t want to ruin this vibe. It feels like in the beginning…
I take her face in my hands. The skin on her cheeks is warm under my fingers, and for a moment I stare at her as if I am still trying to figure out how we got here again. Her eyes are narrowed, her breathing still agitated, and when I bring my face close to her I feel the warmth of her breath mingle with mine.
I kiss her. It’s not a shy kiss this time… It’s a kiss full of desire… of necessity… of everything we have been saving for too long.
My lips move over hers with more intensity, and as I do so something in my mind makes its way through the emotions of the moment.
A memory, an old one. One that returns with a clarity that surprises me.
The beginning… When it all began.
I remember perfectly the day I decided to conquer Clara. At that time everything had an air… practical. Calculated. Families saw it as a smart move. Two strong surnames, two worlds that would benefit each other. I was also aware of that, everyone.
It was the kind of union that seemed perfect to many, but for me it wasn’t just that.
It wasn’t from the beginning, I wouldn’t marry a woman I didn’t like. For which I would feel no desire.
The first time I really looked at Clara, I understood something I didn’t expect to feel. She wasn’t just a beautiful woman-though she was, and a lot. There was something else.
Something firm, something that I did not easily find in other people.
Strength, character.
A calm that conveyed support, as if she were made to support, to walk next to someone without losing herself. And at that moment I thought something with absolute clarity:
She is the woman I need in my life.
