Chapter 163

All this information that Cora was printing out was mind–blowing. I had no idea it was so easy to gather such information on someone. Cora didn’t even blink when asked and opene a program that even Demetri hadn’t seen before. He was in awe and wanted to get his hand on it. What blew Demetri’s mind about that program was that Cora had created it herself after a school project had given her the skills to dig deeper and create it; she never got to submit it as an assignment. The teacher had said Cora had passed in flying colours and didn’t need to do more, and spent the rest of that term catching up on other studies during that class.
Cora was going to share it with Hacker, but he had something he was using and wasn’t interested in downloading hers; most probably, Hacker thought his was better. Some men
can be arrogant like that; Hacker’s did the job for what he needed it to.
After dinner, it was fun, suggesting silly ideas for the engagement to see how the guys would react, and we shared a private smirk when they took the bait and ended up with a party planner, less for us to worry about.
But the information that I was sharing with Demetri upset me a lot. People I had considered friends and family were traitors, dirty, hurting other club members.
How does one live with that?
How could they steal from people in need or harm others?
Demetri understood why I was upset, and I was a little surprised to see neither Cora nor Xavier show any emotion; it had to be hurting Xavier. He had been at a club all his life; the previous members were like uncles to him, babysat him, and taught him to fight, to be part of a larger family circle.
These shootings, if they are part of it, mean they are hurting our family and friends; that’s unacceptable in my eyes.
I am shattered; they have destroyed the foundations of what I thought that club life was to be. I loved that life.
But I had been deceived.
At least it’s only eight members, and not Oddball, Scrubs or Dozer, I would have been even more devastated if they had been involved. Poor Oddball, when he finds out that Bluey has been lying, and Scrubs – Bluey was his wife – and she was a racketeer, or whatever they call

those who steal and sell on the black market.

When Demetri called it a night, I was more than ready to walk out that door, the only problem was it would be waiting for us in the morning, with new information.
Demetri’s men will have news about what happened tonight; they can’t go back to the club, it was too dangerous. Oddball may not be accepting the fact that he has traitors in his club. They are from a different club, but he could still ask the men not to return to his club, but if h stops them from returning, wouldn’t that mean he was turning Demetri away too? This was all too confusing and complicated for my little brain. I needed to turn it all off because I couldn’t see answers to my questions.
–
Demetri was in the shower. While I didn’t want one too tired to bother having one, I took my time brushing my hair, thankful that Cora had put all I needed in here, like she knew I would stay overnight at some point. I looked at myself in the mirror, nothing looked different from when I looked in the mirror this morning, other than that I looked so tired, with bags under my bloodshot eyes.
All the information hadn’t changed for me to look at, only on the inside, and I changed. I only hope that Demetri’s club isn’t like Oddball’s; he tries hard to keep it family–oriented, but can he, after he faces all the truth?
Climbed into bed, feeling tired and older than I am. This was taking a lot out of me. I hadn’t realized how isolated and ignorant I had been in the kitchen at the club; it was where I was happy while I got over the loss of my husband and needed to find a place for myself, but all I did was shut myself away from the real world, and paid no heed to things I thought were club issues, when I should have paid more attention to those around me.
Demetri came out, looking like a god; no one should look at him like that.
How did I get this lucky? I thought, and not for the first time I had that same thought; I had been pinching myself ever since our first encounter.
We talked about how I was feeling, and somehow the conversation changed direction; it wasn’t planned, but before I knew it, I had asked Demetri to talk to me about his feelings, and he did. He asked me to be his wife, and he even had a gorgeous ring ready.
Stunned would be the first thought; I was joking when I asked him to ask.
His words hit me deep inside, in a place that had been locked away and never meant to be opened again; he had been melting my cold heart and giving me hope, now he had me where he wanted me.
Vulnerable, and wanting more.

More of his love.
More of his kisses.
More of his cuddles.
Just more.
I slipped the ring on, looking at it.
Warmth filled me, and I looked at Demetri’s face, waiting for an answer.

“Yes. I would love to be your wife. I can’t promise to be like those ladies on the catwalk, or you read in the glossy magazines, or a socialite, with all the glitz and glamour; what you see is what you get nothing fancy.” I replied, my emotional state showing; tears threatened to fall at a moment’s notice.
—
Demetri’s face bloomed into a beaming smile.
“Yes,” he said as he leaned over and captured my lips, laying me on my back and deepening. We were both naked, and I felt his desire, poking my leg. His hand snaked down between my legs, and he ran his fingers through my juncture; one finger entered me as he played with my entrance, flicking my sensitive parts, building my needs faster than a speeding bullet.
Demetri raised his hips, lined his shaft to my entrance, and slipped easily inside my now very wet channel, more than ready to accept him. Slowly, he pulled out, then pushed just as slowly back in. I reached up to grab his head, but he moved back and took both my hands and raised them above my head, stopping me from touching him.
He leaned in, nibbling my neck, as his hips continued to move, his shaft sliding in and out, hitting all the right places, deep and filling me. Demetri found my lips again, and thrust his tongue into my mouth in time with his thrusts. Demetri released my hands so he could explore my chest, his mouth latching on the n****e, and a light bit, and suckled. It was like my breasts were connected to my core, because that’s where my body felt the sensation of his biting and suckling. Who would have guessed that’s where I felt it the most? I squirmed as he continued to bite and suckle, moving to give the other beast a turn.
“More, harder, faster,” I begged when my need started to become desperate; I was chasing an end, a release, that ultimate pleasure.
