The girls were happy; Xavier was giving me cheek, and I wouldn’t want to change a moment of it. I was on cloud nine right now; this was what family was all about. I couldn’t ask for more or better.

I loved it when Cora put it all on Xavier’s shoulders; I thought he was going to faint in shock, the tip of his ears flushed pink, his only outward sign that the question had touched him, or as my father called it, duck shovelling, sending the decision to someone else.

I held my breath as I watched Xavier; he didn’t take long to answer. Thank god.

Now. It sounds like a good idea, and then we only have to worry about the party. For the people, don’t need a party, but you lovely ladies deserve to be shown off. Let everyone see you are taken. Xavier replied, and inside, I was jumping with joy, because that’s what I was hoping for, as I let the breath out.

Ladies, we can go to the wedding of your choice. Some have clothing you can change into for the photos. Do you want to stay the night? Or come home?

In, do it, home,Ruby answered, making it sound like a job, rather than a marriage not what I was hoping for, but it’s the girlsday, so yeah, suck it up. Cora nodded in agreement and added.

We need to be home; we have all this work to do, a day off to get married, then we need to keep working, another late night by the look of it.

Thanks for the reminder, let’s go.I w

on my phone, ensuring the helicopter was ready, that the private plane would be ready to take us there, as it was too far for the chopper and that they knew where we were going; it would be ready. By the time we climbed in, the flight had been booked in the system, and we were in the sky in less than fifteen minutes.

I pulled out my phone and texted my contact, advising him of the need to have Dormouse moved; he will have it done today. Next was getting my man in the club to organise a party this weekend: three cuts, who they were for, and the names I wanted on them.

At the airport, we changed over; the girls were both thrilled to be in my private plane our plane got to remember what I am sharing now. Xavier looked around but said nothing; if he was impressed or not, I couldn’t tell. He hid his emotions well.

By the time I had finished arranging this, the destination came into sight. It’s a beautiful place; the nightlights are magical, but during the day, seeing the land so bleak and dry, then out of nowhere, this huge metropolis of highrise buildings, all crammed into a small space, is breathtaking. It was a city that never sleeps, and perfect to hide in.

We will be back in about two hours to return home,I informed my pilot, so he could get the plane ready for the return flight. He would inform the chopper pilot when we were in the air returning, so he could get his part sorted. It works well; it has never been an issue in the years I have used these two pilots. They were both part of my security time from the beginning, and I would consider both good friends.

The girls had discussed where they wanted to get married; there was an oldfashioned/style of wedding, getting dressed up in the eighteenhundreds clothes, sounded nice, and I had always wanted to wear cravats. A limousine was waiting to take us to where the girls had chosen; during the flight, together they had their heads together, researching the internetlots to choose from!

The concierge greeted us, dressed in the appropriate clothing, and after taking our details, sent us to get changed. I chose a suit; the jacket hung to my knees, a ruffled shirt, more fancy than/ anything I have ever worn; I looked like the Scarlet Pimpernel at the ball. Not a suit you would ever find me in, and Xavier was dressed in the same, but a different colour; we are both tall, solidbuilt men, and the choices for taller, buff men were fewer.

The girls were spectacular in their wide flowing dresses and small parasols, which reminded me of the ladies in Gone With the Wind. We looked like we had stepped out of the movie set, and I loved their choice. I wouldn’t have thought of this. Our ladies have taste. I was afraid I would end up at Elvis or something like that, where the name of the person often means more than the bride and groom; that’s how I feel anyway. I am not someone who gets stars in their eyes over famous people, and a lot of living ones, I have most likely rubbed shoulders with at a gala or some charity

event.

Xavier and I stood at the end of the aisle; we had already paid and signed the paperwork. They had a professional photographer moving around taking shots; they made us feel special, and that’s exactly what I wanted Ruby to feel.

Ruby and Cora were breathtaking.

Wow,Xavier said under his breath.

Agreed,” I replied softly. Our girls were almost unrecognisable; they were angels walking towards us. They both had beaming smiles, but my eyes were mainly glued to Ruby; the dress suited her, bright red, not the standard colour for a wedding in our country, but being her wedding, and what she wanted. Who cares about Western standards? I heard other countries use red; that’s good enough for me, and would explain why the place had red ones available.

The celebrant spoke in old English; it made me chuckle. Listening to something that sounded like

Shakespeare is not the easiest thing to listen to, but you have enough words to understand what

they were conveying. Cora and Ruby were both giggling as they tried to answer in the same style,

and muffed it completely; you couldn’t laugh alone with them. It was a fun wedding, and I am glad that it was suggested; I think I enjoyed it more, being just us, than in a church or wherever, in front of lots of people. I found I was less nervous, almost like this was not real, but a pantomime. We haven’t done a prenup, even though I had told Cora and Xavier to do one; none of us ended up

preparing one, and I hope one day that doesn’t come back and bite me, us.

The photos were developed quickly, and we each got an album. I will cherish this forever; we all looked happy. I have already chosen one to blow up and put on the wall in my office.

The trip home was spent sharing a laugh over our pictures, the clothes, and finally what we were going to do regarding the reception. A decision was made by the time we climbed into the helicopter for the last leg of our trip home: two receptions, one at the club as I suggested, combining our wedding with them becoming part of the bike club, and getting the new cut, and a road name, and the other, at a hotel, but which one was not decided, as the girls kept changing their minds as to which one would be best. They will check the internet and then visit the place, just to be sure it’s what they want. I have a feeling we will need a large hall to cater for the hundreds of people who would come to that one, at least at the bike club. We have a large outdoor area and two large halls. With our growing number of members, we had to build a larger hall; it’s really a large shed, made into a function hall, suits us, and that’s what counts. Last, could we have

two thousand, three hundred and two active members? Most will want to be there for the

ceremony.
