Chapter 186: Let the Whole World Know.–2
“We’re together… again.”
That was my response to the faces we already knew.

I feel her hand tighten slightly in mine… Rot from discomfort. From emotion, and that… is enough for me.
The cameras are quick to appear, the flashes… The questions.
“Is it official?”
“Have you rekindled your relationship?”
“Are you planning to get married again?”
I barely smile, I don’t answer everything. There’s no need, because the image speaks for itself. My hand in hers, her closeness. My gaze… on her, and hers… on me. That says more than any statement.
The event continues, speeches, awards, conversations. But my attention… always returns to her. To how she moves, how she speaks, how… she fits perfectly into this world. And then I understand. It’s not that she fits in, it’s that she belongs, she always has. And I… I was the idiot who didn’t see it the way I should have.
Until now.
“And now,” says the presenter’s voice, “we move on to one of the most important awards of the night…”
I take a deep breath; it’s my turn. I feel her hand squeeze mine, and I look at her.
She smiles.
“It will be yours, I’m sure of it,” she says softly. And in that moment… Everything falls into place.
“The winner of ‘Entrepreneur of the Year‘ is…” I see the presenter open an envelope, read it, smile, and say: “Ethan Blackwood.”
Clara looks at me immediately, smiles, and hugs me. I return her hug, give her a kiss, and she whispers: “Go…”
୮
I walk toward the stage; applause fills the room. But I don’t hear it like before. It’s not what’s important, not today. I go up and receive the award. A plaque, words, achievements. Everything that’s supposed to matter. But when they hand me the microphone… I know exactly what I’m going to do.
I look ahead, at the people, at the lights. And then… I look for her, I find her. Clara among them all, and I smile.
“Thank you.”
My voice is firm.
“This recognition… is important to me. It represents years of work, of effort… of decisions that weren’t always easy.” I pause. “But if there’s one thing I’ve learned… it’s that success is meaningless if you don’t know who to share it with. And for a long time… I forgot that.”

My eyes don’t leave her.

“I forgot to value what truly mattered.” I swallow slightly. “Today… I don’t want to make the same mistake.”
The room is silent, expectant:
“So this recognition… isn’t just mine.”
My voice lowers slightly, but grows more intense.
“It’s also my wife’s… Clara Sinclair.”
There it is, I said it. Without hesitation, without correcting myself, without hiding it.
I see her, her eyes shine. Her expression changes, pure emotion. And in that instant… I know I did the right thing.
“Because she…” I continue, “is the reason why today I not only want to be a better businessman…”
I pause. “But a better man.”
The applause is loud, heartfelt. But the only thing that matters to me… is her.
When I step off the stage… the first thing I do is go to Clara. Not to anyone else, to her.
I approach her, I look at her. And before she can say anything… I hug her.
“You deserve it,” she whispers against me.
I shake my head gently. “We deserve it.”
I pull away slightly, I look into her eyes.
“Thank you for being here.”
She smiles.
“Always.”
I owed this to myself; it was a way to make amends for a mistake I made.
The toast comes later; champagne glasses, softer lighting, a more intimate atmosphere.
I raise my glass.
“To us.”
She gently clinks hers against mine.
“To us.”
We drink, and in that moment… Everything feels right. In order… As if… finally… The pieces were in place.
The music is livelier now, some people start to dance.
I look at her, I extend my hand.

“Will you dance with me?”
She smiles.
“Of course.”
I pull her closer, her hand in mine. My other hand on her waist, mine… firmly on hers.

We move, slowly, naturally. As if the world… were disappearing around us. And for a moment… There is no past, no mistakes, no doubts. Just us again. And this time… I’m not going to lose her.
I saw several cameras focused on us, but I don’t care, I have nothing to hide. I knew that after this moment, everyone would know that I’m officially back with her. And honestly, I want the whole world to know.
