Sebastian stopped a few feet away from Riley. "You're moving?"
Seeing no one else step out of the car, Riley realized Pierce wasn't with him. He had come alone to talk.
Fine, they could talk.
From the moment she decided to sue for divorce, she knew she'd have to face Sebastian eventually.
She was definitely intimidated by him, but things had already reached this point. Fear wouldn't change anything; she just had to face him head-on.
She straightened her spine. "Yes, I'm moving."
Seeing Riley look at him like he was an advancing enemy, Sebastian's brow furrowed imperceptibly. He wasn't a monster. Why was she so terrified of him?
"Do you need a hand?"
Help?
Riley stared at him in shock. Was she hearing things?
Sebastian St. John was offering to help her move?
Had she completely misread the situation?
"Sebastian, what exactly are you offering to help with?"
Instead of answering her, Sebastian turned to Franklin. "Go help them."
"Yes, sir." Franklin immediately stepped up and took the heavy boxes from Mrs. Gable's hands. He was a mountain of a man; the boxes that Mrs. Gable had been struggling with looked completely weightless in his grip.
Riley's mouth fell open slightly. This didn't make any sense.
This wasn't how this was supposed to go.
Was he not here to pressure her?
Did he not know about the divorce?
But if he didn't know, why wasn't he asking questions about her moving out in the middle of the night?
Not only was he not interrogating her, but he was also actively having his assistant load the truck.
