Sebastian sat at the desk, reading through a stack of documents.

Standing to the side, Franklin discreetly observed his boss's expression. Sebastian was reading intently, but aside from a slight furrow of his brow, his face was an impenetrable mask.

Franklin couldn't help but feel a twinge of disappointment.

This was the complete dossier of everything Seraphina had done since returning from abroad. It included all the details of Pierce and Seraphina's secret trysts. It even included the explosive revelation that while Riley was suffering a hemorrhage, and later while her daughter was undergoing surgery, Pierce had been playing family with Seraphina and her son.

Franklin had assumed that, given how much the boss cared for Riley, seeing the woman he liked suffer such devastating indignities would break his stoic facade. He expected Sebastian to fly into a protective rage and physically tear Pierce apart.

Two brothers brawling over a woman—just the thought of it was thrilling.

The boss was always so perfectly composed, acting as if the sky could fall and he wouldn't even blink. Franklin desperately wanted to see what he looked like when he genuinely lost his temper.

But Sebastian remained completely calm. Did he actually not care for Riley that much after all?

Sebastian closed the file and tossed it onto the desk. The soft thud made Franklin's heart skip a beat.

"Is this all of it?"

Franklin straightened up. "We're still digging into Seraphina's activities abroad. I also found out that Ms. Vance had her lawyer file the lawsuit today. Mr. Landon should be served with the court summons by tomorrow."

Right on cue, Arthur's call came through.

Sebastian answered the phone.

"Sebastian, are you busy?"

"Is there something you need?"

"Pierce refuses to go through with the divorce. He's always listened to you. Could you talk some sense into him? Make him sign the papers."

Sebastian remained silent.

Arthur continued, "You were absolutely right. This needs to be resolved immediately. If word gets out, it's going to tank the stock and ruin the projects we're working on."

"I'll see what I can do."
