Penelope looked up, and a warm smile instantly lit her eyes at the sight of Riley. "You're here."

"Yes." Riley walked in and placed Penelope's favorite pastry on the desk.

"Why did you buy these again? I told you not to waste your money." Penelope stood up, took Riley's hand, and led her to the couch. Her eyes softened with sympathy. "You've lost weight."

Riley smiled. "I just had a baby. It's natural to lose some weight."

Penelope squeezed her hand affectionately. "I saw everything online. When he came here with you before, he was so protective and caring. I truly thought he was a good man, but..."

Seeing Penelope's eyes well up with tears, Riley smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry about me. I'm doing great."
