"Sebastian started learning calligraphy when he was five. Back then, standing up, he wasn't even as tall as the desk," Madeline said, a fond smile spreading across her face. "The first time he practiced, he got ink all over his hands and face. He looked like a little dirty cat."

Riley continued practicing her strokes while chatting with Madeline about Sebastian's childhood calligraphy lessons. She kept a close eye on Madeline's emotional state. Only when she was certain Madeline remained completely calm did she continue the conversation.

Madeline proudly mentioned that Sebastian had entered a calligraphy competition and won first place.

The two of them spent over an hour writing in the study. By the time they came out, it was already 9:00 PM.

By now, Sebastian was surely waiting outside the sanitarium.

Madeline held onto Riley's hand, reluctant to let her go. "Why don't you stay the night with me?"

Riley had actually planned to stay, but she played coy out of politeness. "Wouldn't that be too much trouble?"

"What trouble? You're going to be part of our family anyway. I won't have you speaking like a stranger."

The phrase 'part of our family' made Riley blush furiously.

Lucille was panicking internally. The young master was waiting outside! "Mrs. St. John, Evie has school tomorrow. It probably isn't appropriate for her to sleep over."

"What's inappropriate about it? We'll just have the driver take her to school first thing in the morning."

"No buts. Go prepare the guest room next to mine for Evie."
