Stella smiled brightly.
Dominic chimed in, "Since your health is fragile, I'll have the staff here deliver meals to you every day from now on."
Seeing him act so thoughtfully, Scarlett couldn't help but lower her head with a sweet, shy smile.
Martha looked at them with profound satisfaction. "That's very kind of you, Dominic."
Just then, the manager hurried down from upstairs, ready to escort them to the VIP private dining room. "Mr. Hayes, right this way. Will you be having your usual dishes?"
Stella shook her head immediately. "No, the last few times Dominic brought me and Scarlett here, we got tired of those. Let's switch it up today."
"Certainly, Ms. Hayes."
Their footsteps gradually faded down the hall.
Clara, however, remained frozen for a long time.
Over the last few years, the number of times her own family of three had eaten together could be counted on one hand.
Dominic always claimed he was too busy.
As it turned out, he was busy taking Stella out to eat with another woman!
And the most pathetic part of all?
She had constantly worried that Dominic and Stella weren't eating well, spending hours perfecting her culinary skills, cooking intricate meals for them to pack and take along, never even knowing if they actually ate the food...
Noticing her pale complexion, the waiter asked hesitantly, "Miss, are you alright? Will you be ordering anything else, or is that it?"
Clara snapped out of her daze. She watched them disappear into the private room before glancing down at the order she had just started writing.
It was filled with Stella's favorite dishes.
"Cancel all of these."
Her elderly parents were waiting with their whole hearts, eager for Stella's visit.
But Stella's heart wasn't with them at all.
Clara could easily picture it—if she called Stella and asked her to visit her grandparents at the hospital, the girl would find every excuse to refuse.
Therefore, there was no point in ordering this food.
The waiter paused for a second. "...Alright."
Clara selected a few lighter dishes and a nutritious soup, packing them up to go.
Just as she was leaving, she happened to see a server bringing food to the VIP room.
Noticing the plates of rich seafood on the tray, she instinctively remembered that Stella had a sensitive stomach; eating too much of that would make her sick.
