The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 579

Today, however, Dylan seemed to be in a particularly foul mood. His face was a stoic mask, as if someone owed him a fortune.

When she submitted her project plan, he was constantly dissatisfied, making her revise it three times. First, this wasn't right; then, that wouldn't work.

Rebecca patiently revised it a fourth time and returned to his office.

She felt the plan was perfect this time. If Dylan still found fault with it, he was just deliberately making things difficult.

Rebecca grumbled to herself.

If he was still unhappy, she was going to throw the plan in his face and tell him to revise it himself.

She suspected his mood swings stemmed from some kind of physical deficiency.

She'd heard that men who were… inadequate in certain areas… tended to be twisted.

They derived pleasure from making others miserable.

Just as she was silently maligning him, Dylan put down the report and said flatly, "This will do for now."

Huh?

That was unexpected. He wasn't even giving her the chance to throw the report at him.

Rebecca let out a breath. "I'm glad you're satisfied. If there's nothing else, I'll be heading home."

"Wait…" Dylan said suddenly.

Rebecca paused. "Is there something else?"

Her tone held a hint of impatience. After being run ragged all day, she just wanted to go home and rest.

Dylan thought for a moment, then said, "Get me a cup of coffee."

Just a cup of coffee. That was easy enough.

"Of course, Mr. Austin," Rebecca agreed.

A few minutes later, Rebecca returned to the CEO's office with the coffee and placed it in front of Dylan.
