After hanging up the phone, Cordelia drifted into a daze before finally heading upstairs to their bedroom.

"Who were you talking to downstairs?" Ronan asked as she entered.

"Um... Eason. He mentioned that his dad got a call from a bank in Switzerland about someone making an appointment and wondered if I knew anything about it," Cordelia said, smoothing fresh sheets over the bed.

"Hmm, he sure seems to care a lot," Ronan replied, his voice dripping with sarcasm.

Catching the jealousy, Cordelia retorted, "Seriously, let it go. Why do you keep bringing him up? It's not like I'm constantly talking about Petra. You could start a vinegar business with all that jealousy."

Ronan pinned her down on the bed, his face just inches from hers.

He twirled a strand of her hair around his finger, "I've always been the jealous type. Try talking to him again; just try."

Cordelia turned her head away, ignoring him.

Ronan clenched his teeth, wishing he could physically pull Eason out of her mind. He bit down hard on Cordelia's neck.

Before Eason's call, she had received a message on Messenger from the school: The faculty was urged to learn from a recent incident involving a student named Daisy, to improve student conduct, and a meeting was scheduled.

To prevent further repercussions, the meeting was for teachers only.

Cordelia hadn't given it much thought, and with Ronan's attention fixated on Eason, she had also overlooked the significance of the meeting about Daisy's death.

Nevertheless, the meeting took place the next day in the school's administrative office.
