Aaron saw the look in Corinne's eyes and knew what she was hinting at. Smiling, he said, "Why, Miss Corinne. We've come to visit you, of course."
"It's been so long since we met, so we thought we'd drop by," added Xante.
Both of them tacitly did not call her 'Boss'.
"Great. You've come just at the right time. I was feeling bored, but with you guys here, we can play some bridge to kill time."
"Sure," said Aaron with a smile.
"Yay! Mister Aaron gave me half-day off, so I can play with you guys too. I've always wanted to learn how to play bridge," said Annie happily.
At that moment, Pamela came out of the kitchen with two maids.
"Corinne, I heard you have some friends over, so I made some snacks for them. Tell them to try it while it's still hot!"
However, Corinne made no move to do so, which was weird since she had always been respectful of Pamela.
Annie quickly stood up and said, "Thank you, Ma'am. That's very thoughtful of you."
Pamela smiled kindly at her. "You're Annie, right? It's been so long since you last dropped by that I nearly don't even recognize you anymore. My, my, you've certainly grown into a beautiful young lady."
"You're too kind, Ma'am," said Annie, blushing.
"Thanks, but no thanks. I appreciate the gesture, but I'm not in the mood to eat any sweet stuff at the moment," said Corinne coldly.
Pamela's hand paused. She did not get angry and passed the cookie to Joey instead. "Here, child. Try this cookie, and let me know whether it's good or not."
Being a kid, Joey could not resist any sweet stuff, so he quickly took the cookie and ate it. Corinne simply glanced at him and said nothing.
Since Pamela was there, Aaron and the rest of them found it awkward to talk about what they came for so they all fell silent.
In the past, Pamela had never been the one to insert herself into Corinne's friend group. She would go back to her room after serving some snacks so that Corinne and her friend could talk more comfortably.

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
