"W—Why is Xante's phone w—w—with you?"
Corinne felt a headache coming on. "I'll repeat my question. When did that happen?"
Sunny did not know how to answer her. He was even more afraid of answering her when he remembered Xante's warning—he was not to breathe a word of what happened between them to Corinne.
"Oh, Lucas is telling me to do my homework! Talk to you later!" He ended the call swiftly.
Corinne took a deep breath after hearing the dial tone.
Having another problem on her hands was far from ideal. It was bad enough that Aaron got involved with Jeremy's niece. Even Xante hooked up with one of the Riveras.
'It's one thing after another…' Corinne lamented.
Early the next morning, Corinne brought Joey downstairs for breakfast as usual. Having taught the boy to eat with a spoon the day before, he had since picked up the necessary ability and did not even need to be fed at all.
While Corinne was eating some oats, Greg—who never liked her very much and rarely showed any concern for her—said, "Don't just eat oats. Have some eggs and sausages too. You need the protein!"
Corinne pursed her lips, smiled, and responded curtly and politely.
She was not touched by his words at all. On the contrary, she felt that every single show of concern from the Holdens was for the developing fetus in her stomach!
After breakfast, Francine brought Joey to play while Corinne spoke with Pamela.
Greg went to his study after breakfast, leaving only Pamela inside the room.
"It most certainly does!" Pamela said. "Is there any place in particular that you'd like to go to, Corinne?"
Corinne sighed and said, "I'm bored at home, so I'd like to go out for a walk. How about we feed the pigeons at the public park? Will that be alright?"
Pamela took Corinne's hand and said, "Of course! You don't have to ask me for permission. You just need to tell me where you want to go!"
Corinne smiled wryly. "If that's truly the case, there won't be so many bodyguards guarding me at the door."
"Umm, well..." Pamela hesitated.
Corinne finally said, "Well, it's set then, Grandma. Let's go for that walk tomorrow morning then. I just checked the weather forecast, and it's the perfect weather for a walk tomorrow!"

The readers' comments on the novel: The Day I Kissed An Older Man
This book is a good book, but it’s too short. I hope it has a part two👍🏾...
This book is getting boring now. I loved Jeremy, Corinne, Sonny and Lucas. The story needs to end. or bring back more of Jeremy, etc....
I haven't skipped any chapter at all. Though the story is good, it keeps going back to base one. I think this has no ending at all and somehow after reading more than 2500 chapters it's kinda tiring already. They have drained all the thrills....
Great writing! I almost cried when Helen hit Melody! So sad! 😭 can’t wait to see how the relationship with her and Lucas develops though. So tired of the repetitive problems with different people....
Yikes my body tenses so much, my moods change as the scenes change. It leaves me wanting to continue reading....
my heart breaks for melody, so many ups and downs, i shed a few tears when lucas walked by melody carrying thalia, and melody stayed quiet while watching them leave. i find myself getting into character as if im one. i dont remember ever feeling like that in any other books. im thankful the 10 chapters/day. waiting for the next 10...
We have updated progress from 7 chapters/day to 10 chapters/day.<3...
i love grandma Beatrice, there needs to me more people like her in the world straight forward and to the point, no beating around the bush and worrying about offending anyone, why pretend to be someone your not....
looking forward to more chapters, The same thing is happening to Melody as what happened to Luna, if Luna was back maybe she would set Lucas straight, can't wait to see how Lucas handles the situations that will arrive. Poor Melody....
ya Lucas pay more attention to Melody lets see what happens waiting for more chapters thanks...
